Just wondering, seeing as the BL&G no longer have an association match with the Hills, how would a Plains vs BL&G match turn out...?
Under 17s and 15s as well.
Could be made into a massive local comp over the next few years...

if the BLG had a full squad of player, not so well, it has been the most boring topic on this forum but my thoughts are BLG is about level with the top of Div 2 down town and APFL is middle to bottom of Div 3, big difference..

To be honest, Barossa's second side would be far to good for the APFL's best and I am not being biast at all. If the Barossa played their best 22 in the comp then it would be like a Mallala v Hamley game in 2009

Days, sources tell me that Brett 'Barry' Burgess has been offered a job in Queensland which he will accept and that is the reason why he had to knock back the maccelsfield job. Ben I believe is going back to Angaston to play with a few mates before hanging the boots up

Heard a rumour last night Swamp that Mallala are upgrading their lights to SANFL standard. If true, this would be massive for the league. I have always thought that the first club to bite the bullet & spend the big bucks required to do this would benefit greatly both on & off the field. Imagine say Mallala v Two Wells on a friday night. Not only would you get supporters of both clubs there but also people from every other club. I know i would go & watch plus spend quite a bit over the bar...
One day original John Palmer will be found & the truth will be known.

would be better. but on the friday night games could you imagine some of the B graders the next day.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

I understand this very point was put to the Two Wells committee last week after an approach from Mallala - on the surface looks like a top idea - first game of the season on a Friday night - Mallala vs Two Wells.

Just clarifying what your saying Jumbo that, Mallala have approached TW regarding playing a friday night season opener. If thats the case then it would seem certain that night footy will be played at Mallala next season?

First I have heard about it Unit, can't say I am overly keen on it, on face-value I would consider it a bit of waste of money. Mainly because I won't be able to sit at the bar after work on a Friday and get on it with you Unit cos I'll be playing (hopefully). What I do like about the whole thing is that given the financial position the magpies are in, would rather spend money on things that would benefit the community rather than blowing it on a few money-hungry recruits. IMHO that is why this league has been such a great "country" league for so long as opposed to the Barossa league and leagues in the SE that blow rediculous money just to get a high-profile player that couldnt really give a stuff about the club itself   I hope for the sake of our league everyone keeps towing the rope in the same direction ;)

Thats correct Moon Unit - a certainty though I am not sure. Would need Mallala, Two Wells, APFL, APNL, players and other stakeholders to all agree on format etc. But like I said - on the surface it looks like a good idea.
