Jets won the T20 GF Thursday, however lost the one day GF this evening, to Kensington by about 20 runs. Cam eback from 5/21 chasing 193 but ran out of wickets - still had 15 overs left!

Will Dan Cullen be playing 2nd Grade Cricket in a couple of weeks time? He is getting spanked by 'A' grade sides, and must be the worst player in the History of Australian Cricket to don a 'Baggy Green'......is there anyone worse?? or have I missed someone?

Dan earned his spot in test cricket when he got his games. People have short memories. He well and truly deserved his spot. He may not have performed or done much since, but to say he is the worst player to ever don the baggy green is an absolute disgrace. Ridiculous really.

yes he deserved his spot but at 26 he should be in his prime, so he will most def be judged on what he is doing now, bit like woewodein in the AFL??
IMO the little pretty boy just worried about how he looked rather than playing f***ing cricket.. he would of hated it years ago without the big srceen replays.. its like porn for him..

That's gold! He also had a crazy habit of pulling his sleeves upwards to reveal what he would have thought were potential 'Guns'.....Unfortunately for him he is built like Pee Wee Herman. But did I see correctly with his name in the next Sheffield Shield Squad? WTF? Perhaps it's 'Last Chance Dan'???

I think you blokes are being a bit harsh. He definitely earnt his spot, though it was only against Bangladesh if I remember correctly?

That summer he had an awesome time for the Redbacks in a pretty ordinarily performing side - he was turning the ball so far it was unbelievable, especially for an off spinner. But I think like most young bowlers - it doesn't take long for opposition sides to work out how to play you and you need to keep changing the way you do things unless you are a once in a lifetime player otherwise you won't keep succeeding.

Even the most astute cricket judges in the country were touting him as a good replacement to Shane Warne - I remember Justin Langer giving him massive wraps at the time after playing against him in a Shield game.

Not really sure what happened but he has certainly lost form and fallen from grace pretty quickly....

Harsh indeed Willy.. Wasn't all that long ago Hauritz was running around playing grade cricket in Sydney and playing the odd 2nd Xl match.

IIRC, his form dipped slightly when Terry Jenner started working with him to increase his repertoire, and these sort of things take time to master. You don't just roll a few out and start doing it in a match straight away. It takes years of honing and in the meantime, his stock deliveries have probably suffered a bit as a result, and his confidence would've taken a pounding too.

He still has plenty of time to find his mojo again climb back to 1st class ranks and maybe beyond. Greg Matthews was 34yo & Bruce Yardley 36yo when they played their last Tests. Don't write Dan The Man off just yet.

After several tense periods, Northern Districts is through to its third consecutive final this season after defeating Glenelg last weekend. In from youngster Greg Bain (75) and inspiring batsmen Lachlan Hall (76) shone for the Jets as their match winning knock’s led Northern to victory. Coach Russell Thompson praised the duo while commenting “Greg gave us the start we needed and hung in there while we lost wickets. Lachy also impressed me as he battered brilliantly all round.” Bain and Hall played in the B grade for more than half of the season until Thompson gave them their chance to perform in the A grade. The decision made by Thompson proved to be a decisive one giving the Jets another crack at the two day Grand final. The Sea Horses battered first and played rather conservatively at times finishing 5/272 off 90 overs. Captain Andrew Frick received the best figures with 2/88 off 30 while Steven Marks and Redback Mark Cosgrove both took a wicket each. Northern’s innings began steadily until Cosgrove was caught for 25 off 34 balls. Cameron Francis couldn’t have got off to a worse start to his innings as he was given LBW first ball. Bain was starting to find the gaps as Isaiah Borgas came to the crease but he failed to contribute as he was also given out LBW for 8. At 3/54 the Jets fans were looking rather nervous until Marks looked to settle in at the crease hitting a four early. The Sea Horses had other ideas as they dismissed Marks for just 14. The dynamic Mark Hanson was next in and lived up to his name smashing 50 off 67 balls before he was caught after lunch. At this stage the Jets still needed 125 runs with 5 wickets in hand meaning the match could go either way. Bain and Hall got to work creating a run rate of 4 an over until Bain was caught for 75 while Northern still needed 68 runs for victory. Frick (21 not out) came to the crease in search of quick runs however it was Hall who took over and guided the Jets to victory. Northern Districts will play Sturt in the Final this weekend at the Adelaide Oval.

The B grade is also through to the Grand final after they defeated Sturt at the weekend. The Jets battered first and made an encouraging score of 267 off 80 overs. Opener Aaron Meredith played sensationally right from the start as he scored a century finishing with 114 to his name off 242 balls. The other opener Paul Hunter also played well for his 56 while Kirk Pascoe was next highest with 34. The Victory never looked in doubt as Northern bowled Sturt out for 196 off 72 overs. In form bowler Andrew Perkins scored a blistering five wicket haul finishing 5/25 off 15 while Hunter finished with figures of 2/18 off 10. The Jets B grade will play Southern Districts in the final this weekend at Salisbury Oval.
