Well, let's see Petoe.
Overall I think we have had about 32 players out at training- BUT, never at the same time!
I have heard about some recruits, and have seen 2, maybe 3. I know nothing about them though, sorry, except they can kick & handball & run laps :D
What I can say tho, is that there will be WAYYYYYYYYY less $$ spent this year, and that our junior committee is working exceptionally hard on ressarrecting our junior programme.
On a sad note, our tireless Bar Manager finishes up on Feb 28th after 2 years of hard slog (and drinking). Might not be missed that much after all

Classic ! does this surprise any of us :-o
I witnessed a situation in a junior prelim last year that really left me thinking if these maroons are running the ship we are about to capsize. Then i realised all they are a bunch of old blokes that congregate at a footy game and dont even pay to get in when all the officals(coaches, players etc) of the clubs have to. :butthead:

These maroon slackers need to get their act together. They were all lucky to be voted in with the overwhelming amount of people willing to volunteer to give up 2 or 3 nights a week plus Saturdays and most Sundays for the fantastic sum of.....NOTHING. And knowing most of them, and no I am not one of them, I am sure they would rather be at their own clubs games each week helping out or watching than driving all over the south listening to whinging all afternoon.

Everyone had their chance to nominate and have a go at making changes but as usual it was left to the same few. As with any committee all correspondance received must be tabled so if you can come up with any better ideas that will keep EVERYONE happy you know where to send them.

Looking forward to seeing an influx of nominations for the vacant positions at the end of the year, or we can leave it up to the Community Football Board to make the decisions for us.

Why is this none diclosure of clearance listings unique to the SFL, when every other league has a full listing. If it is because one club (as mentioned above) has objected because they have so many clearances, I think both the SFL and that club in question should swallow a tablespoon full of cement and htfu.

You do make some decent points Ogil, can be very easy to sit back and critisice the decisions and efforts by a group consisting mainly of volunteers. For those who would like to see some change then i am sure there is ample opportunity to nominate and join the MAROON 5.

Very simple answer to that one ------ it's still cricket season!!!
It seems some of the SFL people are taking the same tack as AFL etc ---- that football somehow takes precedence over cricket.
If they ever tried that at Bice Oval when the Stingrays have a final being played IT WOULD BE WAR

Im pretty sure we've kicked the Sharks off our oval so we can have trials on the 20th and 27th...but its their own fault because they didnt book the oval for finals...we got in first.

Settle down Hound !

Given your opinion of the SFL Officials I'm sure you wouldn't have expected that they would have foreseen that you would have the opportunity to host a cricket Grand Final. (Not something any reasonable person would expect them to predict !)

I'm sure a simple phone call would arrange an adjustment to the program - it seems that Brighton wont be having a home GF :)

Everyone expects the program to be available early, yet somehow you also expect them to see intto the future and avout cricket clashes - get a grip (or maybe put your hand up to do the programming HAHAHAHAHA)

Sad news about the Bar Manager Moe (just a hint of sarcasm) .... hard to find good volunteers, but maybe you will now ;)

As for your teams, I hope they keep battling and competing. I still can't get over the (now old) fact that Morphies can't field a C Grade - hope that doesn't turn into not fielding a B Grade this year !

I applaud any efforts you guys are making to resurrect your juniors. It's been a mystery to me for a few years that you keep fielding subbies but haven't fielded an U14 team for many years - surely some of thise kids come thu ???

Again HH3 do ur home work!!!!
Your footy op is cold calling yes cold calling on lads that have not played A grade footy and the offer of $150 is the norm!! After disscussion with a very highly regarded C/Beach lad and his brother the same Hackham Footy op called on their door step and tried the speel but more coin was offered but both sent him on his way! So HH3 do yourself some renegotiating as it is fact.
That was just this week!!!!

If you are involved in the association teams then it is actually 3 or 4 nights a week for the first half of the season.

And I admit I was wrong on the paid nothing side as well, an honorarium of about $300 is payed yearly to cover expenses, oh and a free meal on Medal night.
