Good decision SFL - not

Classic ! does this surprise any of us :-o
I witnessed a situation in a junior prelim last year that really left me thinking if these maroons are running the ship we are about to capsize. Then i realised all they are a bunch of old blokes that congregate at a footy game and dont even pay to get in when all the officals(coaches, players etc) of the clubs have to. :butthead:

These maroon slackers need to get their act together. They were all lucky to be voted in with the overwhelming amount of people willing to volunteer to give up 2 or 3 nights a week plus Saturdays and most Sundays for the fantastic sum of.....NOTHING. And knowing most of them, and no I am not one of them, I am sure they would rather be at their own clubs games each week helping out or watching than driving all over the south listening to whinging all afternoon.

Everyone had their chance to nominate and have a go at making changes but as usual it was left to the same few. As with any committee all correspondance received must be tabled so if you can come up with any better ideas that will keep EVERYONE happy you know where to send them.

Looking forward to seeing an influx of nominations for the vacant positions at the end of the year, or we can leave it up to the Community Football Board to make the decisions for us.

Well said, where would we be without these blokes, unenviable task to please everyone, recruiter 10 and hound get on the board or shut the **** up! Oh thats right its easier taking pot shots from behind your computer than doing the harder things of making this competition the great competition it is!

As for your teams, I hope they keep battling and competing. I still can't get over the (now old) fact that Morphies can't field a C Grade - hope that doesn't turn into not fielding a B Grade this year !

I applaud any efforts you guys are making to resurrect your juniors. It's been a mystery to me for a few years that you keep fielding subbies but haven't fielded an U14 team for many years - surely some of thise kids come thu ???

Lonsdale have had the same problem, never get enough kids through in the same season to start an under 14s. Club finds them a game with another team then some of them switch to that team and you still don't have enough the next season. Add to that other clubs enticing the better players away telling them there will never be an under 14s at their home club.

Settle down Speecy, if the SFL board had done the proper due diligence then this situation would not have occurred for the second year in a row, you would of thought that they could learn from previous mistakes.

If B graders are getting offered $150 a game i better renegotiate my contract...you're full of Sh!t

Again HH3 do ur home work!!!!
Your footy op is cold calling yes cold calling on lads that have not played A grade footy and the offer of $150 is the norm!! After disscussion with a very highly regarded C/Beach lad and his brother the same Hackham Footy op called on their door step and tried the speel but more coin was offered but both sent him on his way! So HH3 do yourself some renegotiating as it is fact.
That was just this week!!!!

Ok mate...settle down...i wouldnt want you to get your players to target me again...(yes, they told me after the game they were instructed to target me)...dunno why? Im a nice enough guy...

Any SFL clubs available for a trial on 6 March vs the Brighton Bombers. We don't have access to Brighton Oval but we have booked OSB/Lonsdale Oval for this date if we require it. Happy to play at your ground if available.

Previous plan for that date has fallen through but we are still keen for a 3rd trial to go with our trials on 14 & 21 March prior to our first match for points on 27 March.

PM me if interested.

Why is Brighton the only club that is made to play the catch up round for the second year straight? It doesn't seem right. My view only

The luck of the draw ;)

Don't worry Brighton's SFL Rep has been very outspoken about their plight to SFL, re the problem with ovals being unavailable for the match, players who still have cricket finals, the break for the teams who play in the catch up games between their first game and their second, not to mention the ability to train on a full oval with goal posts, etc.

Unfortunately with the number of teams and the number of rounds we play. its pretty hard to programme it all in. Each club's SFL Rep was asked to go back to their committees and ask whether from 2011 we should have 16 rounds or 18, so it can be looked at for the future.

Targetting? Why would any club go defensive against hackham?

Fringe A grade players have been offered good coin ($150) per game from the hackham coach. But, i think the hackham powers are doing the right thing (apart from offering that type of money to players) because they are targetting numbers and not good A grade footballers. At least there building the numbers up. The question is, are these fringe A graders going to put up with being flogged week in week out until they eventually win some games and recruit A graders?

Thats the exact wording that the noarlunga player said to me...i found it pretty weird as well...

I dont think there would be many players offered $150...some probably were. All players would know what they should expect before they sign for us, so if they are the type of player that drops their head when things are bad, Im not sure I would want them on my team. Thats one of the biggest problems we've had in the last 2 years...this year I think will be different. Everybodies in a positive mindset. We know what to expect against most teams. But there are a couple they I personally think we couple beat...IF we keep our heads up.

Using the Aldinga game as an example. We kicked the first couple and the morale was incredible...Ive never seen it at Hackham before. And it just got better with every goal we kicked, along with our skills. If we can get starts on a couple of teams we could get off the bottom of the ladder for the first time in years.

HH3 Stop with the ego trip!!!! I was talking with the lad that would make that call over a cupa and he found it very funny. NO PLAYER from Hackham was targeted/tagged call what you want.

Diss over :)
