Really! You seem to be in the know there Razzman. I have read the minutes and there was no mention of anyone resigning (Not that things are always minuted anyway).

I did however get the impression that there may have been some heated discussion regarding finals venue, and the fact that the Board voted in the IDM Sports Tape deal even though the clubs all voted NO at the AGM.

MC, that would be due to the influence from the CFB, KB & GR have this wonderful relationship that has no ending.
So who is running the show out there, the board does what the clubs want in normal circumstances, not the other way around.
How can they overturn a NO vote made at the AGM by the clubs? :shock:Kangaroo court or what?

Excuse my ignorance Aceman but I don't know who KB is? I will assume that GR is Glenn Rosser.
I too always thought that the board ran the league FOR the clubs. Perhaps we are wrong.

Probably not the place to discuss too much more. I have spoken to a board member a few days ago and let him know my thoughts. The expression "Kangaroo Court" has been used by some of our club reps on a few occasions.

But on the other hand, hosting a GF should be the reward after a lot of hard work put in to expand there netball teams. Also, as was mentioned earlier, a lot of netballers hate playing on the indoor court surface. What is the current status with Virginia netball ie how many junior & senior teams do they have?

No Junior teams and either 1 or 2 Senior teams. Also no mini colts.

I have followed up on a few comments since my last report and i respect every1 has an opinion but i would like to expand on mine, i am an out sider and from a neighbouring league, i have attended the prelim final for the last 2 years 1 at virginia, 1 at two wells, both did a good job, but would have said the facilities at virginia were far better..
i find it hard to comprehend the fact that grand finals are only played at certain venues, and that these clubs are the only 1 with opportunity to make money, as for the netball what kinda a court is the national league played on?? or state league for that matter??? fairly sure it is same kinda court. and i bet given the opportunity most players would prefere to play on an indoor court especially when it was pissing down with rain outside. And i am sure that if ANY other club in the league had the same facility they would use it the same way. i belive it has been recently air conditioned and fairly sure the change rooms are of high quality. Having said that i do understand its not perfect having only the 1 indoor court and given that you need 2 to fit all senior teams in. But surely some kinda modified format could be agreed on.
oh and also Virginia are working quite hard on football and netball spoke to some1 in the know and have been informed they are fielding at least 4 senior teams hopefully 5 at least 1 prob 2 junior teams and also mini colts in the football. Given the multi cultural society i think thats a fair effort

KB could be Kel Bromley, owner of IDM Sport.

So they should! If they think they are worthy of a spot in the APFL so they should fill these teams. Their effort in fielding netball teams in the past has been disgraceful.

Can anyone comfirm that Benny has signed with balaklava? I have been told he is suiting up for Freeling again in 2010. I know him and Lamond are good mates so it could come down to that.

Heard a bit of rumour that playing senior footy at Mallala is "too much hard work and committment" for a young chap these days  :D. Hence his request for a clearance to a club that have guaranteed a spot in their A grade. I guess this approach works for some clubs and not for others, it does explain a few things though :D :? :?

I know its been quiet on here Swamp but you know chappy as well as i do & you know that he is a quiet decent lad that doesn't deserve to be canned on here just so you can hang shit on United! Or are you really that bitter buddy?

Hardly hanging **** on him mate, I can't see too many problems with what I posted, isnt that the case? Chappy is a quality player and quality bloke. Of course loosing a player that the club has developed from mini colts, due to a lack of loyalty is always disappointing. I'm sure you would agree? Can't say that its super satisfying Unit!

For the record, i don't think chappy has ever said this :D :D , and as far as I know the main reason he's switching clubs is to be with his mates from Dubby. Fair enough in one sense but disappointing for the Mallala FC and the players all the same. Hope all goes well for him except when he's playing Mallala :D :D surely now I can put down the shovel unit!
