We would be lying if we werent disappointed at losing tim. Quality bloke, quality player. Gasko was retired and ritts hasnt been seen since gf day last year, so no problems there. Hopefully bodey and greeny can add something in 2010. overall exciting year ahead for us with stack of kids to push their way in.

Na im not serious AFL FLYER, just Zelezny being a d!ck head again....

As Axel said... All is fine at Emu land, the keys to success have all been retained on and off the field and to add the 2 Recruits of the year in the SFL to an already strong list is positioning ourselves exactly where we want to be heading into the start of the season.

How's your backyard looking? How are your boys coping knowing Ware and others are on BIG BIG $$$? FACT... Far more than what they are worth. The rumblings are just beginning from what i've heard.

Billings? any sightings at training?

Dead set. Great opportunity, just got to take advantage of it.

aldinga community has been growing at a rapid rate for 5+ years now, and we've got bugger all new players/supporters. cant see it changing any time soon.

I reckon they should appoint someone to address this - something like a recruitment/development manager? There's got to be a way to get people in the community involved.

Reynella seam to get a star every year. Butcher, Moore are 2 that come to mind. Where are they now? Did they do your club any good? Will Ware be any different?

Don't know the full story here boys. One thing I know is that I had it down as the 28th March, not Feb. The reason for the posts not being in at one end is that we are still playing cricket & the posts are in the way of the nets runups.
The bloody pitch is not even covered yet either come to think of it, so someone has some work to do in the next few weeks!

Aldinga should start a SOS campaign " Save our Sharks ". Similar to the Richmond football clubs Save our Skins campaign in the early 90's. Put posters up in the local shops and surrounding areas, fundrasing tins in local pubs and shopping centres. They need to yet the public of Aldinga know that the club is on its last legs and needs help to survive. Yes alot of people have moved to Aldinga in the last 5 years, most of them wouldn't even know there is a club there. They live there and enjoy the beautiful beaches there but I think you will find they socialise in surrounding areas and not Aldinga.
They need to have a Save our Sharks day at the club calling on the Aldinga community, past and present players and the football public in general. Hopefully doing this will create an understanding that the club needs help. If no one is interested then the club should pull the A grade and B grade out and revert to C grade on Sunday's.

Footy club is focusing on A and B grade for 2010.

Had 70 kids register for mini league Sunday, people know we're around.

By all reports over the last couple of years it hasn't been money that is an issue more effective recruiting. They would have had a lot of players come in and out of the club in the past couple of seasons, a few of which have been reasonable players but have any of them hung around??

As soon as an offer of equal or greater value comes up from another club they're out the door!

Those two players were obviously recruited prior to Early being onboard so I don't think we can use those two as an example when discussing Early and paying big dollars to players.
Big Tommy Billings has been to quite a few trainings including the camp we went on over the weekend. The bloke is a man mountain and will be a handy inclusion this year along with Elijah.
Should be a big year with M/V picking up a couple of big names and not really losing too many and Brighton also recruiting 3 or 4 former SANFL players, I wonder why no one ever discusses them paying big dollars considering the recruits they have picked up.

I would say you are pretty spot on there AFLflyer.
Brighton have recruited Chad Norsworthy (played at Centrals), Craig Statham (played for Glenelg), Nathan Twomey (played at Woodville-West Torrens).
