If final nominations only went in last week then I'd expect the program would have been started after that, then it'd need to be approved by the board. Was there a board meeting last night, or when is the next board meeting?

SHOE BOY

Saturday Juniors definitely don't start until 10 April. Its one thing to have Seniors start in March but definitely crazy to have juniors playing for points that early. With the new age rules we will have some Under 14's playing primary school cricket on that Saturday morning.

Last year Brighton filled the vacant junior slots in our March game against Marion at Glenelg Oval (who didn't have a full compliment of juniors) by playing trials against the Emus in all 3 junior grades at the same venue. This year we are doing the same against Reynella (be it at Reynella or your ground) so that there will still be a full day of 5 matches (this time with the same clubs in all 5 games) just that the Junior games are trials and not for points. I suggest you guys do the same with Porties.

SFL rules now allow clubs to patrol gate from early and charge less until 11.00 and then full price thereafter. Not all clubs do this. I would assume that the home clubs on 27 March will go back to the previous practice of manning the gate from 11.00am which is after all the juniors and their parents have come for the junior matches anyway. Anyone coming in after 11.00am are clearly attending for the seniors and can be charged accordingly. The juniors and parents will still spend money at the cateen and BBQ.

Under 14, under 16 and under 18 programs have been emailed to the clubs. As Shoe Boy said, no games until April 10th for the juniors.

here is my ladder predicton (end of minor rounds)

Brighton
M.Vale
Reynella
Cove
Noarlunga
Marion
Happy Valley
Port noarlunga
Flaggies
Edwardstown
Christies
Londsdale
Aldinga
Hackham
M. Parks

Here's mine:

Morphett Vale - Myponga could take ten or eleven of their players and they'd still be a powerhouse
Reynella
Brighton
Noarlunga - have recruited very well
Happy Valley
Marion - the dark horse for 2010, I think
Edwardstown
Flaggies
Christies
Pt Noarlunga
Morphie Park - would rate them higher but seems to be a bit of trouble going on (albeit I only get that impression from what I read on here, so who knows)
Aldinga
Hackham
Lonsdale

As for Aldinga, ZC, you're spot on I think. A couple of years back it wasn't so much recruitment as rent-a-player, and it was hardly surprising that most of them didn't stick around. Things are different now - much less money being thrown around and more concentration on building a solid foundation. But I still think they can capitalise more with recruitment given how rapidly the community is growing. :)

Weird. I thought I remembered typing 'Cove'. Oh well. Between Valley and Marion I reckon.
