Maybe you want to look at the top of this page mate...pretty confident i said we are NOT happy with it...you're obviously not too bright so i wont hold it against you. If you think you can take a club that was in our position in Rd 7 2008 with no coach, half the players we needed, etc, to improve any more than we have to this time then you know nothing about football...the only way we could do that is to pay really good players top dollar, and then once the money runs out we're back at square one...if you havent been in our position dont bother commenting on it because you have absolutely no ******* idea...

At least you won't have to buy a goal kicking trophy for the year, that will save some money :D

Word is Happy Valleys coach was impressed with what he saw from us. Just goes to show we are on the improve. Like Ive said 1000 times, it would be stupid to think we'd go from bottom to beating HV over just one offseason.

No writing anyone off after one game but to only kick one goal in a full game, just thought on the score board you might have more of an impact no matter who you play? due to as stated in other blogs that you have increased your depth and personal.

That is one of the things we are really unhappy with and will have to work on. Going into the game we thought it was realistic to expect at least 10 scoring shots vs a team like Happy Valley. Didnt happen, so we are def going to try and learn from it. I really think the SFL should schedule some more even matches for Round 1...say Hackham Vs Aldinga or Lonsdale...for the simple fact that everyones still learning and to get an almost unavoidable belting in the first round really dents the confidence of the lower teams. In my opinion we should have played Aldinga, with Cove playing Happy Valley.

Like ive said a few times now, no excuses (for the nitwits that think im happy with the result)

So have we managed to attract any posters from Happy Valley yet? My mate was rather impressed with what he saw from the Vikings (ableit against some average opposition) in round 1, especially from their new you look BIG forward line which consisted of usual ruckman Ben Squires (returning from South or West IIRC) at full forward and a new lad at centre half forward... name might be Dan May from South juniors? Valley could be looking at a good year!

Marion looked the goods for a half on Saturday, tho didnt really come out after half time. Probably need a centre half forward to help get the ball in to big Smithy at full forward.

not a bad call regards to marion CHF has been an issue for a long time no hight and pace lets us down. We need a real front running leader in this position who will play like j brown lead up all day and strong grabs with first gives to our running half forwards and onballers which we have but cant use to our advantage because we loose possesion more oftern than not in this area of the ground making it hard for our players running forward of the play to get back quick enought. when playing a skillfull side like Emus that is a problem. Any j brown ;) out their who want a gig or we will be happy with even a richo! ;)

Marion V H/Valley Valley by 10 goals
Noarlunga V M/Park Shoes first game at home and will win!
Reynella V F/Hill Reynella in a good contest with the young Falcons.

Maybe not as many as people predict. IIRC in these types of games last year "The Bish" moved the team around all day and i think tried to get every player a goal.

Only bit of interest will be to see how the ex morphie juniors go against their old club.

ZC, thanks for your concern bloke.
The first half was an extremeley tight, fast, hard fought contest and was very happy with what we were doing on the field. VERY happy.
Second half for some reason the guys went away from our structure and started doing there own things & as good sides do you Emu helmets stuck to the game plan and did not get swayed from it and ran all over the top of us which was VERY disappointing.
You guys are the bench mark no doubt about it and with the outs you guys had it was definately our chance to get the points. BUT to your sides credit they were awesome in the last half and deserved the win they did. Worst thing was in a quarter and a half we gave ourselves a complete injustice to our first half performance.
We were very lose in the middle and young Bodey was unbelievable in the ruck and unstoppable. Very talented kid, have not seen him play before and that was one dominant performance, probably one of the most dominant performances I have seen in the ruck since returning to the SFL.
Happy with that ZC, you guys were too good over 4 quarters BUT we will learn alot out of that game and be better for it. Good luck the rest of the year ZC, and hope to see you guys again later in the year.
