The show is on again tonight, from 8pm until 9pm, on 1197am 5RPH

I think the hosts tonight are Rob Green and Damian Woodards and the boys may be speaking to Chris Gowans ahead of his 200th this weekend...

Will post podcast links tomorrow, as per the norm...

what would be your first question G ?

for the record mine would be ''with arguably the best forward setup in the league why is the team so defensive & not giving their forwards a chance one out'' ?

Daniel Healy and Ron Fuller were the guests and then toward the end of th show, the boys had a chat to Chris Gowans ahead of his 200th league game this weekend...

He also gave his thoughts and tips on this coming weekend of games. Was a good show, well done boys...

Will post the podcast download links tomorrow morning...

i thought it was a rushed show especially over the last 10-12 minutes & i wonder what chris gowans really thought when he was all but cut off mid sentence, personally i thought it was rude & lacked respect

Yeah, probably was rushed toward the end bayman, but the problem is, when you do the Thursday Night Show, you have to be off air within a 15 second window eiher side of 8:59:00 so that the automatic computer system kicks in with the overnight BBC programming.

If you are 1 second over this, it throws the system out and then has a snowball effect on all the other programs are out of whack thereafter. I'd say time got away from the boys last night hence the reason they had to cut Chis off right at the end.

Show is on again tomorrow night, this time with myself and John Nankivell

We will hopefully speak to a player or coach from 2 of the 4 clubs RPH are covering this weekend, North v South and Norwood v Central...

We will also have Reece Homfray from the Advertiser to dicuss all the sides INS and OUTS for Round 11...

So tune in to 1197am 5RPH tomorrow night from 8pm until 9pm...

Phil, reading through the weekly guests shows a huge bias towards guests from Central compared to other clubs..

Am I right, or is this just a coincidence?

It may just be that the night I am rostered on to do the show, I generally get someone on from Central. The show doesn't have a producer so it is up to the people hosting the show to organise the guests. It may be right that the weeks I have been on there has been a Central guest on the show, but I could be wrong?

If my memory serves me right r&b, we have had the following guests from Central on once this year:

- Roy Laird
- Paul Thomas
- Adam Switala (before his 200th)
- Chris Gowans (before his 200th)

The idea of getting guests on is to have a representative from at least 2 clubs from one of the 4 sides that RPH will be covering in their match day broadcast the following weekend.

This week RPH are covering the North v South game Saturday and then the Norwood v Central game on Sunday.

Over the course of the season so far, purely from memory only, guests have included the Central people above then the likes of Ron Fuller, Daniel Healy, Nathan Bassett, Tony Bamford, Andy Collins, Mark Mickan and I think Luke Norman.

We have had a couple of the coaches mentioned above more than one occassion and generally if a coach isn't available for the show, we will then fall back to the captain or a senior player.

If it seems that we have more Central guests on than other clubs, I apologise on behalf of all that are on the roster for the Thursday Night 5RPH League Teams Show.

Certainly anyone on here please feel free earlier in the week to make suggestions as to who you would possibly like to hear from on the show and if I'm not rostered on for that week, I'll do my best to relay these requests to whom ever is doing the show that week.

Sincere thanks for that comprehensive reply, Phil. I think the others you've named are probably just one (or none) from each other club compared to 4 from just Central, with Paul Thomas also on for the 2nd time(?) so perhaps bear that in mind when you're selecting guests. I'm sure it's not difficult to get players or coaches from other teams.

I think I mentioned the preponderance of Central guests last year as well.

To try to be constructive, is it possible to have discussion on each game earlier, or spread through the show and in perhaps more detail? I'm sure most of your audience supports a SANFL team and are waiting to hear something about their team, not just have the inevitable rushed moment or two at the end of the show.

Will take the feedback on board r&B and will see what we can do tomorrow night...

I'm yet to hear back from Paul Thomas and Ben Warren actually so I will try my back up plan of someone from North and Norwood as they are the home teams for their respective games this weekend, being covered by RPH.

I appreciate you making mention of a perceived bias toward Central guests this year and last but as I mentioned above, there were a couple of scenarios were Milestone games happened to involve Doggies players so they were the guests those weeks.

Again, if my memory serves me correct, I reckon Ron Fuller, Nathan Bassett, Daniel Healy and possibly Andy Collins have actually been on twice this year and don't be confused with Outside 50 (the Wednesday show) having a few guests on from finals participating teams late last year, including Paul Thomas.

It isn't always easy to get a guest, unless you have their direct contact details, and at times when you have to go through footy managers or club officials, it can take a little bit of extra time so sometimes the regular, but reliable guests are used again. Some clubs just prefer certain players to not speak in the media, like Todd Grima at Glenelg, so it can sometimes limit who we can access.

Like I said, will take your suggestions on board and will see what we can do. I might try for Clint Alleway and Brett Zorzi actually if I don't hear back from Paul Thomas and Ben Warren by the end of the day.
