Maybe it is me but I think this travel back from Perth is going to be a key advantage for the Panthers.
Especially if it is the red eye flight via Melbourne, that is
Depart Perth 11:45 PM (1.15am SA Time)
Arrive Melb 05:20 AM (4.50am SA Time) ... Flight 3 hours 35 mins
.... sit at Melbourne airport for 2 & a half hours.
Depart Melb 08:05 AM (7.35am SA Time).
Arrive Adelaide 09:00 AM ... Flight 1 hour 25 minutes
(Arriving only 4 hours before the meeting time at Adelaide Oval)
I cant see how the coach / players are going to get any more than 4-5 hours sleep before the match, and what player sits on a plane for more than 5 hours then plays a full footy game on the same day.

Also, 23 into 21 doesn't go, and Port have to shed 2 more players from somewhere. I don't believe that Port will 'drop' an AFL-listed player (if they were going to do so this year, it would've happened before now) and they don't want to drop any of Summerton, Bruggemann, Krakouer or Slattery (the first 3 because of their quality and role in the team, the last because it would be too embarrassing to drop the official 'leadership player' and vice-captain). So letting one of the emergencies (probably Impey) stay in Perth with the boys who played, plus, um... let me see... Daniel Flynn coming down with a chronic case of general soreness on Sunday morning, will fix it.FOOTY TALK wrote:I think you will find that emergencies will be flown back saturday afternoon and keep 1 until gametime

About 90% of the posts on this thread could be held up as evidence as why the AFL reserves experiment in the SANFL is truly sh*t .
'People are not stupid. They know when they are being conned. And two reserves teams operating in a League competition will reduce it to a farce, a competition without a soul.'

Slattery will miss.think you will find Hitchcock was actually dropped last week but they said he.was injured because sanfl asked the question why.

And Sam Russell missed the game why, general soreness I suppose? If Port play by the rules then Slattery or Krakeour didn't play last week.

So with the power winning, that means all players are illegible to play in grand final?

What is guaranteed is that the SANFL grand final will be drowned out in the media by the AFL preliminary final coverage.

Yep was always a stupid decision to move the GF forward.
imho will be even worse if the Port Power Reserves make the GF
Could be an embarrassing crowd. How many Port Power Reserves fans will go to the SANFL grand final when a lot will be over in Melbourne on the Saturday and potentially saving pennies to get tickets to the GF the next week.

Yeah, if they don't, I just can't see them winning the flag.
