Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 1 - 2020
Yes it does Dutchy but the new two level clubrooms are getting built where the grandstand and old rugby club was. It will be a similar set-up to Campbelltown Oval with changerooms, canteen etc. on the lower level and clubrooms/function space on the upper level, however it won't quite be as big and palatial as Campbelltown. The work is scheduled for completion in mid-June 2020 and we will still play all home games at Brighton in 2020 without any radical changes to the fixture. Our existing clubrooms remain standing and will continue to operate until we move into the new complex and will we have temporary changerooms brought in to cover us for the first half of the season.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 1 - 2020
Appreciate the need for the redevelopment and sounds great, but having never visited Brighton until Round 18 this year I quite enjoyed having a peek around the existing clubrooms. Gave off a fantastic nostalgia/old school vibe.
From memory the fridges behind the bar looked almost like original fittings (which I'm sure causes all kinds of drain on the power bill)

I had a similar experience at Morphies a couple of years ago. Loved the old-school club rooms but could understand the need for redevelopment. Lockleys the same this year.

The bar fridges with timber trim and the chrome lever handles are a retro thing of beauty but sadly aren't as practical and energy saving as modern equipment. Plus our kitchen is small and well past its use-by date and don't get me started on issues with plumbing and other maintenance that has become all too common. Whilst these issues are the responsibility of the Sports & Social Club Committee it ultimately affects the dividend to the footy club. So overall the pro's of the redevelopment far outweigh the con's.
The new Rugby Club that now sits on the Brighton Rd edge of the complex is progressing nicely and the Lacrosse Club on the south-eastern side of the footy oval has also been demolished and their new clubrooms are getting built simultaneous to ours. We are the lucky ones of all 3 winter clubs in that our existing clubrooms still stand whilst our new clubrooms are being built.

Brett Deledio to SPOC. Apparently his wife's hairdresser used to date a guy whose sister's boyfriend has a mate who's a gardener there.

As an aside my observation is that most of the D1 clubs tend not to do the gaudy player signing posts on FB (which I personally much prefer, I think it only increases and exacerbates turning community footballers into commodities and further tears on the social fabric of the sport, but that's just me).

Man do I disagree with that, have you seen SPOC, PAOC pages lately? I think all clubs have just jumped on it now...

I intended to say "aside from PAOC/SPOC"
Don't think I've seen anything from the other 8 clubs.

We posted a recruitment announcement on our members only Facebook page just for it to appear on the SA Footballer Facebook feed minutes later without it being sent through to them. It wasn't our intent to promote it to those outside of our club, it was more of a "keep our members informed" type post which can also spark some early season enthusiasm.
I think you will find that not all the announcements that make it onto the public sites were sent directly to those pages for their use as promotion.

TTG are Div 2 for the moment
It's an interesting discussion though. Clubs have a legitimate interest in letting their members know developments and building up excitement within their membership base. Social media is obviously a sensible way of achieving that.
Just something about the self-laudatory nature of posts makes many of them make me feel uncomfortable. I particularly find "re-signings" to be a bit perverse, as if that shouldn't be the default rather than something notable.
Each their own though, I haven't been voted morality police (and I suspect many would raise objection with the concept)

Yes, the "thanks to the PNU for sending in their mad monday pics" were strikingly similar to those that had been posted by sponsor The Kensi only minutes before.

Brett Backwell sacked from PAC,

Trent Heffernan leaving Port District for the Barossa plus a couple others form Port Districts heading to Clare
Forster paying $1.01 to win the Div 4 Medal!!
Districts will struggle next year now.
God job for anyone who gets PAC coach, premiership favourites.
Have a feeling Craig Pitt will be playing Coach
I believe this has finally been announced today?
