Langhorne Creek, storming into the GF, some silly chance I think playing on the Hard Wicket at Hahndorf. B Grade and Langhorne Creek are a chance after knocking over Strathalbyn who seem to always trip up come this time of year.

Playing for Hahndorf on their Hard Wicket could be scary or even dangerous.

Hahndorf definite favorites but not by a lot
Creeks did beat them 5 - 6 weeks ago at the Creek to start off their 7 game winning streak
Creek not having played on Hahndorf oval this season is definitely a fair disadvantage as a few Creek players have never played there at all.
B Grade - Strath dominated the season on the back of a strong, experienced and reliable batting line up. Losing their leading bowler in Randal Birt with a hamstring strain i believe (Still played as a batsman tho) and also Todd Hillam with a knee injury who had been averaging 67 with the bat in B Grade certainly didnt help their cause. Creeks batted and bowled well by reports.
Tough ask for the Creek against Nairne on the small Main Nairne Oval
Interesting to note that in the B Grade Semi Final between Nairne and Macclesfield played at Nairne Main Oval last Saturday there was a staggering 29 sixes hit for the match
Maybe last week they didn't move the boundary ropes back after a U/14s game or something as other than that , thats pretty crazy stuff.

Shaun comes off about 5 steps. Not dangerous but still very high quality. Reckon only tailenders like me would find it scary haha

Shaun bowls within himself these days off a short run
Still sharpish but his pace isnt a talking point these days.
Has 20 wickets @ 14.00 and the best economy rate of 2.62 rpo off the top 30 A Grade bowlers so is still a handfull

Re: Adelaide Hills Cricket (HCA, TVCA & A&EH)
Would he crank things up for a grand final?!
Remember hearing a story from Geoff Warren that Tait as a kid didn't get put forward for junior rep teams because he leaked runs. Keeper couldn't stop them, edges flew for four. So he didn't get noticed. It wasn't until another kid broke his arm leading up to a camp or carnival that Tait came in. Got spotted there and was in State junior squad within weeks and on his way

I doubt it.
Not that ive seen recent A Grade Grand Finals that he's played for Nairne but i havent heard hes bowled any differently on those occasions although i did hear 2 years ago that he threatened to after some Woodside players sledged him badly in a Semi Final and they then met again in the GF. Didn't hear anything about him carrying through with his threat. Didnt have to, Nairne won easily anyway.
I'll confirm that story with Geoff when i see him Thursday night
Sounds about right tho

Does he still have that massive slinging action of 5 steps. Hard to picture!

Very happy to stand corrected if that's the case..
Naturally there were a few rumours flying around during the pre-season.

Crazy what meadows have achieved, 10 in a row would be crazy. We have lost 3 grand finals and 3 semi's to them in that time and none have been all that close. It's kind of nice to be in a GF not against meadows this week

Yeah it's ridiculous.
Although they smoked us, it was a good experience playing against them in the Courier Challenge some 7 or 8 years ago.

Can understand why there would be rumours but I can unequivocally say that no money has changed hands from HCC to any recruits or current players.

.
Great for the Comp to see a couple of Fresh faces in the Grand Final after a decade of dominance by Nairne playing predominantly Strath and Woodside
And to think that only 4 years ago the Creeks finished 2nd bottom following 2 wooden spoons and Hahndorf didnt even have an A Grade.
Just shows how things can turn around relatively quickly

The A&EHCA A Grade Grand Final between Hahndorf and Langhorne Creek is underway. Hahndorf won the toss and opted to bat. The game is being live scored for those that are interested in keeping track: http://mycricket.cricket.com.au/common/ ... ID=2914599
