have to make it first
I wouldn't write any team off in March let alone WOS.
Who's writing them off?
You asked the question 'would they?'

Would they? Saw them play a team on thursday night who were in div 3 last year and were outplayed most of the night bar the first 5-10 mins. Athelstone looked a class above
'would they?' My response to your question is: I wouldn't write them off. Yes they could.
Unfortunately Kilburn have had a late withdrawal from our opposition this Saturday. Would any club interested in a trial match please contact our coach Luke McCracken ASAP on 0478 466 673.

Looked very good, Minners with a well oiled machine for the year. Certainly the better team on the day.
Who did they play against?
CLG
Spoke to a mate today at Plympton and things ticking a long quite nicely. The lads seem quietly confident. Comfortably accounted for The Colonels by about 8 goals with plenty of midfield rotations and all recruits travelling well. They will head into the season with a real chance of being the big improves in this div.
Under their new chief the Colonels were attempting to play the press and got caught out a bit over the back when it broke down. Not sure if that's in their plans for the season but I woulda thunked it would be challenging to utilise for a div 4 club. Perhaps ambition and capabilities might have had their lines blurred. Time will tell I guess. I watched them play a game last year and they definitely weren't using it then.
Interesting to see that the Dogs are the second least tipped club for the flag not that it means that much but they have snuck under the radar and are looking forward to turning around a Disappointing last couple of years.Really well run club who don't yo-yo but are really well internally structured and don't just throw wads of unsustainable cash around the traps like some clubs have.
Good luck Minners and Plympton. I'm looking forward to calling one of their games later in the season.

Woody South employed a full press in Div 6 last year and won a flag! As long as they have players come to training and practice it over and over I can't see a problem with it. Perhaps capabilities of the opposition might not be able to handle it either........food for thought!

Pembroke played it last year as well. I noticed Brighton and Golden Grove tried it in trial games this year as well

They didn't play it in the game I commentated. Admittedly it was late in the year against West Croydon so perhaps they put it away for when they would meet them again later.
Fitness of everyone employing it would be where I could see it breaking down. As you said though if it is trained, practiced and implemented correctly then there is no reason why it can't work.
PNU C grade tried to use it against A grades last year and went 0-16 so it is a fine line.
