Re: SAAFL Div 5 2008
i dont play so i dont know the playing sides reaction but i know he has promoted a lot of youth in place of some big names who retired, transfered or have long term injuries..they have a 16 y/o playing his first senior game in the A's today i believe..

Re: SAAFL Div 5 2008
A win is a win but I thought Kenilworth made a game of it today. Im a proud kooka but we can play alot better than that, taking nothing away from Central United who worked their a** all day and still prooved a nuisence, the umpiring was ordinary especially protecting players taking marks and getting a gutless charge from behind with knees aimed directly at kidneys. Not even a 25 paid, let alone a report......

Navy2005 i can say that stephen zweck has done a good job so far, i play for the club and he is happy to promote the 16 year olds when the game is right. There has been 3 so far that has played in the B's and another one made his A grade debut on the weekend. He is real talent who won the Metro South U/16 Association medal last year, he should have had a crack at a SANFL club (there was at least 4 of them that asked him out).

No real upsets over the weekend.
Plympton people...were you guys at full strength in the A's. i heard you were missing your full forward but outside of him were you pretty close?

i thought smithfield over rosewater was a definite upset..smith is the forward missing from plympton burra..been out for 3-4 weeks..now do you guys need any maps for the trip out to kooka park this week ?
top 3 are clearly the teams to beat..rest are playing for minor finals roles and to avoid relegation..

How good is Golden Grove's B grade travelling, averaging almost 146 points per game compared to conceding 15 points per game, I thought Plympton may have given them a bit of a challenge but obviously not.

Yeah fair call about smithfield. The seem to be running hot and cold. They pushed us all the way round one. Potentially a danger side as they seem to match up well against us. I see them as the real smokey of the comp. The battle for the final two spots will be very interesting. At the start of the year i was sold on Rosewater as a potentially top 3 side (mistakenly discounting plympton) but if elizabeth continue to improve it will be very tight.
The sides that should make up the 5
Green
GG
Plym
Rose
Blacks
Expect smithfield and eliz to be snapping at the heels. Continued improvment from kenilworth is good as well but i think they are a touch away from relly challenging.

Will be hard to topple for the flag. Big call this early
I think the count was 17 out of the 21 b-graders on the weekend had played a-grade over the past year. Of the ones that havnt, one is the u/18 B&F from last year in his first year of real senior footy.
Signs are looking good for the club on the whole with the amount of depth we seem to have. We should (fingers crossed) have a d-grade up and running next year. Bloody shame to see 20 odd blokes miss out on a gig each week. The good thing is no one has spat it and all continue to train despite no guarantee on c grade game time. 83 on the track last tuesday. Was a joke trying to do anything, so mitch pulled alot of the a-grade off early

i hailed you down because you were wrong then and still are now..there are more than 3 clubs caught in the relegation battle and i think u actually said only 2 were at the time anyway,i see 4 teams on 2 wins and one team on none and 1 on 3..slip ups will be costly and the rds 15-18 will be crucial..have another beer

Yeah, few of the lads away for some ruck work. Didnt help the 18's were mixed in. Leray was less than impressed with situation. Especially with only tonks at the helm of the masses. Was a tough night but the numbers are a better sign than any hassle caused
Everyone is doin ok at the moment.
Shall i see u there tomorrow nite mate?

Re: SAAFL Div 5 2008
2 teams because C.U are a given, that gives ya 3,dont get shitty because ones your side, the other i support, the game i saw between the 2 of the other battlers they should go down with C.U but that wont happen so one of them will have to wait for next season to meet their fate.Elizabeth are getting better and Rossies will win enough games down there to keep em up or they will spend some bucks if they look in trouble to save themselves,i know the Farms wont, the return match Between Farms and Burras will tell the story, simple neither side should win another game until that day.Sparkling Ale thanks.

Re: SAAFL Div 5 2008
whos shitty?
you were wrong
yeah elizabeth improved so much they got a 18 goal hammering last week after losing to smithfield the week before, rosies will buy themselves out of trouble?..like they did so successfully last year???..last thing farmers need is a "supporter" like you just bagging them..they nearly knocked off bos last week yet you say they are finished..well done..i thought u would be more of a west end light sort of guy not sparkling ale..and yeah my team is in the zone..so what..we will go into every game trying to get more wins..and we wont be waiting for 8 weeks time when we play farmers again..he who hesitates is lost

Re: SAAFL Div 5 2008
Hey Zedman, I think you might find that Elizabeth knocked off Smithfield the week before. What were the conditions like at your ground on Saturday, the photo's don't really give a clear indication.
I would've thought you guys would've thumped Central United, on the other hand, looking at their team sheet, they are getting some new players in, they will improve if they haven't already.
You guys have been looking better, a good win against Ingle Farm away should've installed some belief in your group and there is still plenty of season left to play.

yes you are correct LM..my bad..elizabeth beat smithfield
CUFC is improving every week and have players coming back..to be fair to our boys they went 6 goals to zip up in the first 15 minutes and the game was over..they wouldnt get out of cruise control from then on..coach wasnt happy with it either but 2 points is 2 points..should have won by 12 goals +..CUFC very small..our ruck was killing them till he got injured before half time and that took some drive away from the middle..the garner boys play pretty well for CUFC
and i agree..12 rounds still to be played and lots of things can happen

I agree with the quality of your oval, speaking of which, have you guys tried to get sponsorship from a petrol station, you get shagged in the second half of the season.
From round 9 to 17, you have to travel to Greenacres, Smithfield, Elizabeth, Central United, Golden Grove then not too far to Blackfriars, now that's clocking up a few k's.

Re: SAAFL Div 5 2008
tell me about it !!
heres a hypothetical to ponder..in div 4 unley and pulteney come down..golden grove and greenacres go up to div 4..in div 6 clg and wos come up..central united and ingle farm go down to div 6..lose 4 northern teams and gain 4 southern/adelaide cbd teams..to join kenilworth plympton, bos, smithfield, elizabeth and rosewater..
then we see how the north likes the travel
