Re: SAAFL Div 2 & 2R (2009)
Ok let me start of with saying I am a friend of carey payney. I honestly believe he is a very very good coach who always gets the best out of people.
I will also add that i do not know Michael Millar. He could be a fantastic bloke and a great coach.
Now that i have my bias out i will continue.
The questions that i feel needed to be asked of the Eastern Park selection committee are these:
You appointed Carey Payne two years ago with the believe that he was the best man for the job, what changed in two years?
He took a side that finished 6th the previous year to MINOR premiers only losing 5 games for the whole year. Are you saying because he lost 1 very important match that he can no longer coach?
What was it about Carey payne that made him unsuitable to coach a Div 2 team?
Why has the club now gone through 4 coaches now in 6 years?
Why was a guy like andy millar given another two years when he lost a div 4 grand final and got the team promoted to div 3?
I firmly believe to many people at EPFC want to have there little say about how things could be done better and how this person can't do this and that person can't do that. For a club that just need to be stable and settled going in to its most important year they have taken a backwards step befoe the first ball is bounced. What happens at the end of this year if the club is relegated to div 3 do you sack Michael Millar because he did not meet a certain persons expectations. I feel a little sorry for the bloke because i don't believe he knows what he has gotten himself in for. Good luck Michael Millar.
I will finish by saying that i am a past player at Easten Park who does love the club and what it stands for. Billy wells is one of the most genuine guys you will ever meet and always put the club first before anything(beside family). I wish him and the football ever success in the future.
There is my rant

I like Dusty Millar alot, but i'm going no where (even though thats not a huge gain for BL! Or loss for EP) because I want to win a flag with BL.... Not with Dusty.

I know all of the "senior players" at EP and they take very little interest in the forum and take comments made on here for what they are....
Who are you CHICOMAN? Or are you one that hides behind your alias?
Still no response Chicoman....gone quiet?

NM, you know that statements made prior to Xmas can and will be used against you in a court of law if necessary.
Do you wish to withdraw yours?

Ha ha, not far from the truth. I was told off, posts deleted and told I may be sued for mentioning a proposed transaction between two clubs that missed eachother in transition last year but are both in div 2 this year.

will be Uni's coach next year.
Will also be poaching a couple of unamed PAOC players as well.
My guesses would be Byrne x 2 or Waltham and another..
i realise this is a slightly old thread but.. i just read it so here is my 2c's worth
i cant see either of the byrnes heading across to Bob neil1 with the fact that Uni dont give out hand outs, and i wouldnt think john waltham will be going anywhere either.
the only other bloke from the Reds may be Dalwood as he played for the blacks a few years back and still hangs around a few of the blacks boys. but seeing as young James is now on the PAOC commitee defecting back to the blacks probably isnt on his agenda.
who else is on the Blacks wish list does anyone know??

Re: SAAFL Div 2 & 2R (2009)
Apparently Roachey said the team they had would have made the finals in div 1 ha ha!
I think Broadview are in a different boat. Wintle and Leal as player coaches and they will be recruiting heavily, not just relying on young kids like Uni were.
