I've told my own lad that if he belts another kid, he will cop a punishment from me, no matter what the circumstance. So if you ever get into a scrape with another kid, think what's going to hurt less - the punishment I give you, or the walloping you get if you don't defend yourself.

In reality if I deemed the situation to be self defence then my punishment would be quite mild, but he's not to know that...

What, and make the bully watch? Tough love if ever I've heard it.

Having a debate with someone re Jobkeeper

I’ll use round figures for ease.

If an employee normally works 40 hours for $1500, how many hours is he currently expected to work for the $750?

Here is my experience, having dealt a bit with the issue a few years ago.

Daughter was having some issues, about year 9 - so 13/14y/o girls.

We took it up with the school, and they dealt with it, quickly and it was all resolved. We put faith in the school, and I would recommend that as your first course of action.

As many as his employer asks upto 40.

Even though they’d be getting half money?

My understanding is 20 hours and then any more hours is paid by the employer from his pocket. It was always a subsidy type payment.
I know of some companies that cutback the hours to the equivalent of 750/week

So by that if the employer only wants to pay $750 (Jobkeeper) the employee only does 20 hours?

That’s what I would have thought it would be

That's the way I read it.
Who knows for sure though, the whole thing is a hot mess.

Does anyone know if you can still buy the Pirate Life special edition Port Adelaide Lager cans? And if I can where can I buy them from? From the Pirate Life brewery? I've googled it but I'm not sure if they're still available. I'm trying to buy some for my brother for his birthday.

My wife's 7 year old grand-daughter is at a school in the inner south. Her mother is Japanese. She hangs about with a girl of European ancestry and a Sri Lankan Muslim girl. Recently, a boy of similar age strode up to the Sri Lankan child and said, " I don't like you. I don't like the colour of your skin!" GD says, "If you don't apologise by the time I count to 4 I'll go straight to the teacher."

He doesn't. She does. School takes action. GD lauded as school heroine.
Sri Lankan girl's mother contacts GD's Dad to thank him and his daughter for her action.

Following up on this, thanks for that Wedgie, I went to Pirate Life brewery this afternoon and got a carton for my brother and a 4 pack for myself. Looked like they still had plenty of the Port Adelaide Lager left.
