I think the Crows did bend the rules and kept them out of the side so they had a better chance of beating North Melbourne the following week. The rule is in place to stop AFL listed clubs resting their players during the SANFL finals.
Just thought it was slightly hypocritical to focus on Seed and CEY and not this issue that's all.

Not sure if it's hypocritical MW. Like I said, I didn't like the advantage gained through bending the rules. In this case I think the only advantage gained would be to the Crows seniors. Sloane sitting on the bench for a game of league footy just to satisfy a rule would have been a farce. But I think Crows fans would have more cause to complain about that. I'm not bothered to chat about it if you think it's a talking point.

CENTRAL District’s outrage at the AFL-based Crows gaining special permits for Cam Ellis-Yolmen and Paul Seedsman to play in Saturday’s SANFL elimination final has a bizarre postscript.

Adelaide also had to seek SANFL permission to NOT play new All-Australian midfielder Rory Sloane and Crows halfback Brodie Smith against the Bulldogs.

Under SANFL rules, the Crows were compelled to play both Smith and Sloane — who both missed Adelaide’s last AFL home-and-away game against West Coast due to, respectively, injury and suspension — in this week’s State league finals.

This clause was written in the AFL-SANFL interchange agreement — with the introduction of AFL reserves teams in the State league in 2014 — to avert the Crows and Power stripping their SANFL sides of talent during finals.

This got glossed over too quickly...thoughts?

I think somebody is making stories up here.
If someone can explain to me why Seedsman needs a permit to play and Sloane and Smith need approval to not play that would be good. Do all 3 not fit under the same umbrella.
Just another inaccurate article form Rucci. If Sloane and Smith needed approval to not play then Seedsman didnt need approval to play. If infact Seedsman did need approval then Sloane and Smith didnt. Simples, what a fricken mess.
May as well just rewrite the rules and say whatever suits the needs of the AFL team is to apply to the SANFL

On to the game.
It's hard to judge how this one will go.
We have never lost to the Ravens - but, now, we face them in their first final at this level.
They've finished above us, but some of their results could have been different but for player availability, so could they have finished higher on the ladder?
Will 'home-ground' advantage play a part? Or will our ability to play big grounds stifle that advantage?
Will Centrals supporters bring their (in)famous atmosphere? Yes.
Will Crows supporters turn out in droves because they've nothing better to do? #theatregoers
Will the Dogs bring their A game, or the inconsistent form, which has seen us finish fifth when there was anticipation of higher?
There are many, many variables in this game.
I'm tipping the Dogs, because that's what my heart says (and I don't want to be the side that allows the Ravens a shot at the title from fifth, let alone give them their first finals win).

A perfect day for crows supporters to attend, go and watch the elim final..wander into the city find a nice restaurant,and have a nice rissoto washed down with an Adelaide Hills Pinot, and then off to the Sound of Music at the festival theatre- what a day - no excuses.

I think the letter said for being a club member and attending all home games or maybe its because of all the abusive e mails i have sent them over the years who knows.

With all the concessions they whined for and received, I wouldn't be surprised either. I'm with you GG, doesn't the SANFL realise that by rewarding their constant moaning for preferential treatment they're encouraging this behaviour? You're right GG, Crows should win easily with a handbag filled with SANFL grants.
