My understanding is that if you have a permit due to work or a dual permit that this can be allowed but i thought it had to be approved by the association in question?
But i could be wrong?????? Would be great to get the official ruling on this, it could open up a massive can of worms for all country comps.
In my opinion the only reasons it should be allowed is work & if they are playing in a lower grade than A grade and they don't want to play grade cricket for the rest of the year.
Any other thoughts?????
To my knowledge neither of the scenarios you have outlined here are the case.... can of worms now open!
TVCA by-laws state that players can have a dual rego with TVCA and SACA, and can play for their TVCA club when their district team has a bye. However a Sunday scenario is not specifically mentioned.
Woodside got sent in at the 'Creek' yesterday on a Road, with a quick outfield on a perfect Spring day and by gee didn't they give the locals a lesson in batting. They clinically disected an undermanned Creek bowling attack and taunted the fieldsmen with their aggressive running between wickets to rack up a massive 5/345 on the turf. Thankfully we're not using the 4 piece balls otherwise who knows what it might have ended up being. Maybe Strath might push for 4 piece balls on Hard Wickets as the wickets tumbled in their match at Hahndorf. 345 in 70 overs is most likely to be the Biggest score in a single day on the turf at the Creek in it's history. Creek managed 340 in a day against Ashbourne about 15 years ago and also racked up a mammoth 450 odd also against Ashbourne a few years back, but that was over about 100 overs (part of the 1st day and all of the 2nd).
Strange things do happen in finals BUT even at this early stage, i'd be pretty surprised if it's not a Nairne v Woodside Grand Final. Suggested Flag Odds

I will take the $1.90 odds right now about Nairne - they are as good as a Black Caviar (sure thing)..... and I would even have a go @ Lobethal on an each way basis.... to storm home & make a semi!

Round 5 Tips Sat 10 Nov, 17 Nov(1:00 PM) Nairne v Wistow (Nairne Oval) - Nairne to win for me, just too strong. Sat 10 Nov, 17 Nov(1:00 PM) Langhorne Creek v Woodside (Langhorne Creek Oval) - Will be a good game, will go for the Creek on their home turf, assuming B Warren plays. Sat 10 Nov, 17 Nov(1:00 PM) Lobethal v Ashbourne (Lobethal Oval) - Interesting game, surely Lobey to get a season opening win at home! Sat 10 Nov, 17 Nov(1:00 PM) Hahndorf v Strathalbyn (Hahndorf Oval) - If Strath can pick up Hassold for under 50, they win, if he makes another ton, then Hahndorf can win it.[/quote]
Half way point of Round 5 - tips looking a bit shaky to say the least!
No idea what happened at Nairne...... anyone?
Woodies - made a huge score on the turf.... oops got that one wrong. Can't see the Creek getting anywhere near 345 - Collins a big ton.
Lobethal made 220, and I hear the Ashbourne boys think they can make those runs. Sorry can't see it happening - Lobey to get a season opening win, as per my tip.
Hassdorf - my prediction of get Hass for under 50 = a Strath win is in the balance. Hahndorf 138 Vs Strath 6/95 with Abbott & Cosuins together & another Abbott (or two) still to bat - Strath may just make the runs! Pretty ordinary batting it would appear on a good day (weather wise) for cricket - 16 wickets falling for just 233 runs. Interestingly poised.
Gotta make a living somehow , anyway, far better than the % of just about any bookie on any racecourse these days. Or the 300% the bookies at the Footy bet on 1st goalkicker etc.......

We'll let you off with the Creek tip as you did have the proviso If Ben Warren plays which he didn't. Creeks will do well to bat most of the day and score a couple of hundred.
I heard the Lobethal oval was running surprisingly quickly last week. If thats the case, IF Ashbourne bat most of the day in which they are certainly capable of, i think they can reel that target in comfortably.
Lenswood 9/260 (dec) v Mt Torrens 0/2. 5 batsmen with 30 or more for us, while Mt Torrens had a weakened attack. Both teams with 3 changes for this weekend which makes it interesting. Eden Valley 60 v Paracombe 7/188. EV only survive 21 overs. Hills with another tidy bag of 7/14. Pirates were 6/81 in reply before late partnership. Should win outright. Palmer 128 v Gumeracha 2/48. Gum’s bowlers getting the job done again. Hard to see them losing from here. Cambrai 7/244 (dec) v Birdwood 0/48. Solid day out for the hosts, before Birdwood piled on the runs during the closing overs.

NO ben Round craig Young rob Colaiacovo Brett wickham for Mt Torrens thats there openin 4 bowlers OUT interestin chase 4 them this saturday
Round and Wickham will return this week, but Young and Colaiacovo are probably done for the season due to surgery/injury. Huge hole to fill as both are quality bowlers, especially Young.
For those looking for something to do Sunday, Langhorne Creek are hosting a SACA 'A' Grade T20 match between Sturt and Adelaide district cricket clubs. 12.00 noon start Bar and Canteen open from 11.30 til finish (approx 3.00pm) Sure to be plenty of run scoring action on the Creek 'Road'.

Mate love to go but the strath races are on!!
Ironically, it's the Langhorne Creek Vignerons Cup Day at Strath Racecourse. Also on Sunday are the inter association games for U/14s & U/16s as well.
Last years game between Sturt and Woodville was on the same day as the above and we made it quite clear to the SACA country co-ordinator that it would be advantageous to steer clear of this date. Yep, no worries, we are happy to work with yous on a suitable date etc etc. So what happens? It's on the same date again and clashes with just about everything.
