According to my Facebook news feed I'm eagerly awaiting a review of a Snid Squitzel from the Hilton Hotel, Hilton.

Ok, I'll bite.

Went to the Hilton for a pre- SAAFL meeting bite to eat..

After hearing how much Boon enjoyed the squid snitty last time we were there, i thought I'd order the same, so head up to the girl at the counter.

Now i'm not sure what I was thinking but without realising, I said " I'll have the snid squitzel please""

She looked at me kind of strangely and you could tell she was on the verge of laughter

" A snid squitzel? she said, with a grin

It was then I realised I had problem with the engrish language and I cracked up laughing

and even trying to say it slowly, I just couldnt get it out right.

So feeling embarrassed, i went and sat down back at our table. Meals come out in 10 mins (good time)

She puts the dishes down and says "One chicken snitty with gravy (for my mate) and one SNID SQUITZEL"

Said snid squitzel was very tender and very tasty, however a bit too much crumb for mine - great chips and probably the only pub i know that serves a decent salad with meals. Far too big for me to finish though

Overall score of 8.

Go and get a snid squitty!

Called into the Rams tonight for a pre-Bowls feed .. Havent eaten there for a couple years (Imho their food has been ordinary at best for the last 15-20 years). Happened to be Schnitty night, so for $12 that made the choice easy. Beef Schnitz with Pepper sauce and to be fair I thought it was pretty bloody good. Service always leaves a bit to be desired.

Food is waaaaay more important than ambiance and even service.

Take bamboo hut bistro in Gawler for instance.

Service 3/10

Food 9/10

Solution - order takeaway and plan for the expected 90 minute wait.

Overall 8/10 probably, not 5

If i have to get it to go and wait 90 minutes, even if the food gave me a gobby, it still wouldnt be an 8

Concur on Bamboo Hut. Service is a shambles but the food is a absolute delight. I always order by phone and add an extra 10 minutes plus on what they advise

My grading system is for restuarant and pubs. Eat in reviews.

Take away has too many variables.

Table of 6 next to us served cold chips

It's not busy, no excuse for cold chips

They did rectify it by giving us 2 bowls of chips that were warm
