Better to fix things when there is minor damage as opposed to waiting for it to sh*t itself altogether.

You can't move Ovals again to attract supporters back. ;)

And I can't ignore trolls, either.

I wonder what port budget for.
A lot of those people would be season ticket holders who don't pay anywhere near $40 a head. Plus family tickets and kids... Also have to keep in mind that lots of people pay for a ticket, but for whatever reason don't turn up. Reasons for which are many and varied and have been discussed ad infinitum. So $40 is an excessive figure IMO. And its a bit of 1.5 million over four years. Not huge at all.

At the end of the day, the bottom line is... the bottom line.

How we looking there?

I was in Bali, I couldn't get there on Saturday.

What are the prices of the season tickets at port?

The cheapest at the crows is $270 to stand on the hill, and I pay $317 which is basically the cheapest seats

So even if everyone is paying $270 a year thats still $25 per game.

A pie and chips is $11 and a beer is $9. so $40 doesnt seem unrealistic, even if you include no shows

$40 a head for what?
Maybe they have a stack of no shows who have already paid for seasons tickets in which case the club has already banked the money.
BTW I don't honestly know how many season tickets Port have this year

Don't know about you but it costs me circa $140 to go the footy.
I don't even buy a ticket in that price.
That's just booze and a feed.
What % of that do the clubs get?

$270 for crows and $170 for Port.
Fair difference there?

I guess it's why you can't really compare clubs member numbers

How much profit/loss in those years as that is ultimately the only number that counts

Have sold out of season ticketing membership's again except for general admission which includes the wait list for a seat or Western Stand access.

Would say as Jim points out above, we have a fair few no shows for whatever reason.

We attract a much younger crowd than the crows do which would indicate most of the younger crowd are hot and cold as to when they can go (Ammo's on a Sat a prime example).
Just shy of 60,000 members again (not sure how many are pet memberships ( ;) ) but it is all money to the club in the end

I think you'll find Port sell about 10k less 11 game season tickets then Adelaide so have a lot more GA available.

Well not really, UK fan is trying to conflate game day attendance with revenue. This disproves it.

But I agree, as I said, the bottom line is the bottom line. Geelong have low numbers crowd wise, great numbers profit wise.

Hence the point of my post.

Indeed... hopefully those declining crowd numbers don't eat into that revenue line too deeply or it will be back to the days of the Crow Park red numbers ;)

In 2014 we averaged 44k and returned a revenue of $48M with a $1.1M loss

In 2016 we averaged 40k and returned a revenue of $52M with a $14k profit.

See where I am going with this? ....

Absolutely... i agree that revenue is not directly correlated to attendances... but you would have to admit that its a pretty significant factor? and if attendances are declining that at some stage they will contribute significantly to the clubs capacity to bring in a profit?

Sure, I would agree, if they were actually declining.
