Re: Adelaide
Not many play 250+ games for the one club (although the Crows do have a good record for this). One of the Crow greats

Re: Adelaide
Saw Darren Burgess across the aisle on a flight from Singapore to Adelaide overnight. Interestingly part of his overhead luggage was a suit bag. Job interview overseas? hmmmm.
Also noticed he was struggling to get comfortable (was in coach...) then heard Rachele on the wireless say that Burgess had torn his hammy playing soccer, not ideal for his occupation!

Re: Adelaide
Just saw a report the Crows have tabled an offer to Elliot Yeo in the vicinity of $2.7M over 3 years.
Reckon he might have considered it last year, but now Harley has arrived...

We paid overs for Bryce Gibbs, 3 years after his best before date, then played in out of position.helicopterking wrote:He’s 31 in Oct.Vamos wrote:Ridiculous offer, massive risk with his dodgy groins.PatowalongaPirate wrote:Just saw a report the Crows have tabled an offer to Elliot Yeo in the vicinity of $2.7M over 3 years.

So getting in Yeo on those numbers is on brand.

Re: Adelaide
Not saying its a good or bad idea but it was quoted to be massively front loaded. Half of that figure was for year one . Cap space to burn with Sloane retiring?mots02 wrote:We paid overs for Bryce Gibbs, 3 years after his best before date, then played in out of position.helicopterking wrote:He’s 31 in Oct.Vamos wrote:Ridiculous offer, massive risk with his dodgy groins.PatowalongaPirate wrote:Just saw a report the Crows have tabled an offer to Elliot Yeo in the vicinity of $2.7M over 3 years.

Re: Adelaide
Maybe, but is there anyone else available to burn some cap space on and front end something?
I don't follow the Eagles closely, but seems an odd choice.

Season over for Matt Crouch. Crows have confirmed the All Australian midfielder needs shoulder surgery.

Re: Adelaide
Add Tex out with a back, and likely Dawson with his foot, this Thursday v Richmond without Dusty, is not going to be pretty from either side I feel.
On a positive might get to see Dowling and Curtin back in.

Re: Adelaide
Contested marking and decision making around the ground is horrible. Tries hard, runs and tackles hard. But it's like picking a brilliant gloveman who can't bat, just destroys your balance.MW wrote:Leads the AFL in hitouts to advantage...the rest of his work must be really bad...

Re: Adelaide
What's interesting is that hit outs to advantage across the AFL average a 4% score rate. Most in the AFL is 6%.MW wrote:Leads the AFL in hitouts to advantage...the rest of his work must be really bad...
O'Brien is averaging 12 hit outs a game to advantage so essentially 4% score rate is 0.48 involvements per game.
Whilst O'Brien leads the comp in hit outs to advantage the Crows sit tenth on the clearance averages per game. Interestingly the top 6 hit out to advantage ruckmen includes O'Brien English, Nankervis, Xerri, Meek whose teams are all out of the top 8.
When i was doing my level 2 coaching course with the SANFL they had a Port Adelaide line coach who mentioned at that level a ruckmens body of work around the ground is considered to be of far more importance than their hit out work. This is only going to be diminished even further if we see less ball ups in a game.
