I think there will be plenty of Cats fans happy it is at the MCG. Cat park holds 40k currently and with 10-15k having to be allocated to away teams for finals it would mean about 30k of your members can't attend. Once your redevelopment is complete you will be hosting finals against interstate sides down there and even minor round games possibly against bigger Melbourne clubs

Doubt they'll have a Thursday night final, esp when it doesn't involve a top 2 side

Definately will be one. The AFL are trying to get rid of Sunday finals. Either the Crows or Eagles will host the Thursday night game

I'm pretty sure they've announced there will be a Thursday night final, I reckon the Crows v Roos game.

Cat Park holds 24K at the moment mate! The GABBA only had a capacity of 19K one year when Brisbane got home finals.

That's because the GABBA is the only suitable ground in the State. If you actually read the fine print of the contracts it actually says that they are home state finals not home ground finals and that finals will be held at the stadium deemed most suitable for each game but the AFL directors can change grounds at their discretion.

Dont think it will be elimination finals as then the winner gets the advantage over the loser of the qualifying finals the next week. It can only be the Sydney final on the thursday night i reckon if they a5re going to persist with it. If they do run with an elim on thurs it will have to be the eagles one as they play the loser of cats hawks game which is a certainty for friday night

It can't be Thursday. I have to work Friday and I'll be drunk.

Why did we play Freo at Kardinia Park and not the MCG at a final a couple of years ago then?

They obviously thought a full KP was better than a half empty MCG. A lot also depends on the contract agreement with the MCG where a set quota of finals must be met.
