I thought so and our first half did indeed break the 30 min barrier

Didn't see it, just got the scores from the Prez. Looks like all 3 games were good contests. Hopefully bodes well for a tight, close even season.

Great game against Onkas last night. Very quick game and a lot of open spaces (as a result of 13 a side) led to a high score line.

As with many of the other teams was encouraging to see 7 or 8 new players adapt to the game very quickly and showed some good signs.

With a few big ins in the coming weeks we should get back on track very quickly.

Rant 1: This is the last time that we will play with 13 players when we have more than 15 as it isn't fair on us to have to make players sit on the bench because this certain team never seems to have enough players against us. Especially when they have people on the sidelines who play other weeks and would have played if it meant there team had to forfeit. I'm of the understanding that the rule was changed allowing a team to play with 15 players against 13 but im sure coach troy will be following this up.

Rant 2: Referee not knowing the length of the half's. Or maybe I don't. So could someone please tell me how long each half should go for?

Ps. Many more rants to come this year.

Didn't hear too many rants from you when the shoe was on the other foot.

Port have only had 13 players for their fair share of games over the past few years.

If No one else does their tips you will have Silver in the bag chief.

Again the fact you have tipped 3 close games is a far cry from previous years. Any word on the return of "The Beard"?

Live from Manila, prior to pink round. If my tips crash, blame the humidity.

Na Fianna v Port - Port 1-5 I'm after the $50 voucher
Flinders v Irish - Irish 1-5, The Doecke machine to get it done
Saints v Western - Western 1-5 Western to reverse last years result after collecting every minor to play for the state in the last two seasons

Round 3 Tips

Port v Flinders. Port 6-10. Didn't see this weeks games but the form suggests Port were red hot and Flinders were so much not. Flinders need to win this or they are going to find themselves in a battle at the wrong end of the table for the spoon that no one wants.

WI v Na Fianna. Goats 11-15. As above. The Warriors fell in a hole despite a good second half fight back whilst the Goats had a strong win against the reigning premiers to move into early premiership favouritism. Looking forward to seeing how far off the comps best side my beloved Finns are on Sunday. Might even pull on the boots and crack some purple skulls. :D

Irish v St. Brendan's. Taints 6-10. Lots of hype around about the IA's moving out of their women's teams shadow and improving to the point of being the year they make finals. If they are going to do that they need to take not one big scalp but 2-3 prior to finals. Always foreseeable at Gaelic with the massive team changes that occur week to week. Another game I will watch with interest. Always good to see the new additions to each team every year. Hopefully the "New Irish" will take it up to the premiers but alas good teams tend to bounce back.

Big news out of Dizzy Square. The Port boys are so rapt at being top of the table for the first time in their existence they are rewarding their coach by purchasing him a business to manage

The shops name : " Troys 'R' Us"

The Troyvelution continues.

Port 11-15*, *only 6-10 if Pokey starts thinking he's a capable shooter
Western 6-10, much more experienced than our group, if we can stop lapses, we should be able to keep touch
Taints 6-10, looked a bit lost at the back last week & pushed up a bit too high too allow Western some goals, they will recover & account for Irish

Based on the similarity of our tips I cant catch you this week, this comp is a travesty :(

I may have to wait to the 11th hour to do my tips next week. :)

Might have to fix your tips lads, pretty sure the Taints have the bye/bar this week! We played Irish in round 1.

I still cant access the schedule on the website, so let me know if this is not the case...

Feel free to edit your tips lads. If you don't edit your Taints tip will just become an Onkas tip
