I looked at the refusal last night smelly and no he does not owe your club any money, it's all good mate Hackham Hawk and I have been talking all should be sorted soon I imagine.

Was also telling HH that I hope the Hawks give the Towns a massive welcome to the SFL from all of us I would love to see a good result and a very very physical contest straight up to let em know it's not gonna be an easy year.

Ice massage. Fill a paper or foam or plastic cup 3/4 full of water, obviously put it in the freezer and once set use the ice to massage up and down the affected area... Simple but effective...

yep the ice massage works a treat, the other thing you can do is a massage called bowen therapy, it bascially is a form of massage done by a professional that increases blood flow and fluid flow throughout the body, it worked wonders for me i could hardly walk when i had bad shins and this got me up for round 1 (costs about $45 for about 1/2hours work). They will tell you to drink heaps of water becasuse you feel drunk afterwards, take it from me drink heaps, i thought it was a myth but when i drove home i nearly had about 10 car crashes.

Where can you get this done because its getting so bad that when im lying in bed it feels like theres a fracture in my shin.

That's cause there is, that's what shin splints are. you might be suffering from shin soreness which turns into shin splints.

a couple weeks ago I was suffering from shin soreness and couldn't walk/stand. So my trainer put some strapping on them and now I don't feel a thing. check out the link, it's a short video
on how to strap your shins, it works a treat.

best of luck to hackham this year, we know whats its like to have lean years as well..i know we have a few of your boys with us this year so we probably arent to popular down hackham way, but everyone comes from somewhere dont they?

fwiw, i think towns are going to kick a cricket score..sorry..they will be up near the top all year..strong club

yeah the old shin splints are nasty, and they proabably wont improve unless we get some decent rain to make the ground a bit softer. Just look up bowen therapy in yellow pages, i got it off some guy called Ayria Lodge, think he works out of Moana Surf Life Saving club. The actual problem is called Compartment Syndrome, the way the docs and this Aryia bloke explained it to me is, its like an envelope under your skin, the muscles and fluid swell up and put pressure on your skin and bone causing the pain.

I was only speaking to our trainer regarding this last thursday night. I suffer from it in my left calf!! there is no cure for it, all you can do is ice and make sure you are streched up good before playing and then warm down properly.

I just saw a physio about my shin splints. 2 ways to strap it - a figure 8 that goes under the foot and around below achilles. holds up the arch in the foot and seems to work. Or there's the other strapping technique that 'A-TRAIN' posted. Anti-inflammatory's can help, but it's bone stress so will probably have minimal effect. Ice, strapping, and stretching is the best way to go.

i see Ayria Lodge a fair bit, for my shins, back, legs and just to keep my body in good nick in general. he works out of a fitness studio on the spy at moana, across the road from the SLSC.

highly recommended.

if you'd like his number, PM me!!

yeah he is fitting in really well with all the players. he realises where the club is at and wants to help succeed which is a 5 year plan not an overnight one, and he wants to help make it happen. will be good to see him in action this weekend when we take on townies! its going to be a very tough game but both clubs have never seen eachother and the game will start 0-0 after all.
