Mark Martin the pole sitter for Phoenix race on monday morn

Im liking this draw card for the qualifying. Names go into a hat, and how they are drawn is how they line up to do their qualifiying lap, from last year it went on speeds from practice.

I reckon that was the first Fontana race I have watched without fast forward, what a super race.
Hamlin looks to be in serious doubt for the next race with back fractures.
Stewart v Logano could certainly escalate & suitably we head off to Martinsville after Easter for some short track beating & banging. Got to love the 'boys have at it' approach. FWIW, I don't think there was too much in Logano's block against Stewart, pretty sure I've seen Stewart do the same when the heat is on. I do like the big Smoke tho & it's always a heap more fun when they drive fuelled by pure anger!

Denny Hamlin diagnosed with back fracture after Joey Logano clash

Denny Hamlin has been diagnosed with a fractured back following his collision with Joey Logano at the end of the Fontana NASCAR Sprint Cup race.

Hamlin and Logano were fighting for the lead at the final corner when contact pitched both men into the wall.

Hamlin made hit the inside barrier head-on, the impact such that all four wheels of his Joe Gibbs Toyota left the ground.

While he initially signalled that he was alright, once out of the car Hamlin had to be stretchered off the track. He was then airlifted to hospital.

Doctors confirmed on Monday that Hamlin has suffered a L1 compression fracture.

A team statement said he hopes to be released and fly home to North Carolina today, with further evaluations to follow later in the week.

There was no immediate word on how long Hamlin could be out, or whether surgery will be required.

former team mates logano/hamlin. Been a word of wars on twitter between the both of them over previous weeks. Hamlin took out logano last week at bristol. And logano actually finished in front of hamlin after that for that race. Logano ran to hamlins car after bristol and wanted to punch on after that race. This has been going on for a few weeks now..

Not sure what Stewarts problem is, ok, logano blocked him near the end of the race, but you can block in NASCAR and dont get warned over it, stewart has done it plenty of times before this to other drivers. So im on loganos side there.
