How good was that to watch!
My missus hates swimming (I told her she's UnAustralian, she kind of is being a pom!) but even she was cheering away during that relay!

What a legend McKeon is! And Campbell's last leg was awesome!

We're ahead of the Soviets now into 4th on the gold medal tally, and more importantly ahead of the GB team.

Having said that the second week is likely to be a bit leaner for us.

Almost certain gold in the Sailing today and perhaps a gold in one of the hockey events. Maybe a couple of medals in cycling but going to be lean from here

At this point the Ozzies have 31 medals, 14-3-14.

A bronze in tennis, a bronze in cycling, a gold in BMX.

Every other medal was won on or in the water: swimming, rowing, sailing, kayak, surfing.

The finals draw has just been completed in Tokyo, the Boomers have drawn Argentina in our Quarter Final on Tuesday night at 9:30pm SA time.

However if we win we'll play the winner of USA vs Spain in the Semi-Finals.

Quarter Finals Draw:

France vs Italy
Slovenia vs Germany

USA vs Spain
Australia vs Argentina

Hockey is played on a watered down surface, so we should be right there.

If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and watch the womens 1500m, especially the 2nd heat.

The Aussie girl (Hull) makes it through, but the one to watch is the Dutch girl.

I've found a replay via twitter (albeit very grainy with Mexican commentary):

Now that is the choke of the Olympics.
Undefeated going in and having only conceded 1 goal for the tournament and lose to a Indian side that barely scraped in to the finals and had virtually 1 shot for the whole game

Watched it live .... amazing performance. She also competes in the 5k and 10k, so she was hoping for a soft heat run, but that all changed with a lap to go. Great recovery.

Aussie track cyclist face plants at 60km/h after his handlebars snap in the team pursuit.

Aussie crashes out of teams pursuit when his handle bars snap off. Did they buy their bikes from K-Mart? Could have been worse if he was the lead rider.
