whufc wrote:Yeah I guess at the moment the challenge is that his behaviour is no risk to anyone from a physical or verbal sense.

His only 'crime' at the moment is that other people feel uncomfortable due to his 'odd' behaviour eg wearing sunnies in the gym, he does the breakfast club punch in the air everytime he leaves the gym, occasionally will dance on the spot whilst looking in the mirrors. That in itself present a challenge in our affluent community, we once received a feedback form suggesting a members should be cancelled because they had a shaved head and tattoos.....they look like a bikie. That was the legit wording.

The other challenge is being a community centre that reports to Council we need a fair case to 'ban' someone or 'cancel' their membership, we probably need a bit more than 'odd' behaviour to get it through Council. Whilst I believe its drug induced behaviour due to my years of living in Elizabeth/Smithfield and seeing it first hand I have no evidence of this in his case.

If I was a private gym I would be able to pull him aside and whisper in his ear to piss off. That is not an option I have being in the organisation I'm in and to be honest wouldn't do it that way anyhow.

Fun times......

With respect I think youre being a tad harsh on the guy, it sounds like the problem is with the stuck up community. I imagine the community up there is no different to the Barossa.
I bet he's not a local and by local i mean he hasnt been there for at least 2 generations.
I could be wrong but he just sounds a bit eccentric and out there for a small country toffy nosed community

A bit of irony yesterday, after a 9:30am meeting where I got a bit animated as I was sick of hearing all sorts of BS that everyone says is going to happen but never does, I pointed out the lack of support and how words in a meeting mean nothing without actions.

I got back to my desk where I had more people waiting for ridiculous demands, my phone was ringing profusely and there was all sorts of mess going on interstate that required me to address and rectify.

I went into my managers office to explain what was going on and we were both flooded some more, I started feeling light headed and nauseous and needed to get some fresh air or sit down, I ended up collapsing as my blood pressure hit 240/140 which is classed as a hypertensive crisis, I got rushed to hospital in a meat wagon where they done CT scans and upper body x-rays.

They ended up stabilizing the blood pressure and letting me out last night but I have some follow up appointments today.

I've just gotta learn to slow down, they thought I was having a stroke or a heart attack, my speech was very slow and slurred, my vision was very blurry and my eyes apparently looked like I could see through walls.

My speech is still quite slow this morning and I have a pounding headache.

And as we all know, therein lies the problem. Hopefully you can coax him into opening up just a bit. The trickle might just become a flood.
