Think the Redlegs will rest plenty against the Bays next week so big chance for the Bays.
Eagles need a miracle now.
North to sew up a spot today against the real Port Adelaide.

IMHO the only players that will be rested against the Bays, would be those with decent enough injury niggles .. All others will play I'd reckon, for exactly the reason you've inferred.

So about half the side will get rested then?

Nup .. High percentage of players from all clubs would be carrying niggles this time of year, but many are unlikely to get worse with continued playing, and many are unlikely to get better til off-season surgery .. Anyone in those categories just carries on.

All is not lost for the Eagles just yet. Win the last 2 games and Glenelg drop 1 of their 2 and 5th spot is ours. We should beat Sturt and on form Norwood should beat the bays. Then it's just West that stand in our way and that played at Woodville which could also be Cica's last, you can expect the Eags to be at their best.

Final 5 for mine will be:
Norwood (36)
Central (28)
West (26)
North (20)
Eagles (18)

If that happens, the Weagles will only be there to make up the numbers!

If we were to make the finals, we won't be just making up the numbers as you put it. We have the ability to beat North in an Elimination and then West in a Semi. I don't think you can call a Prelim just making up the numbers.

My hopeful scenario:

Round 24
Centrals 100 def North 50
Eagles 90 def West 75
Glenelg 90 def South 60

Ladder 4th -6th
Eagles 18pts. 47.16%
Glenelg 18pts. 47.03%
North 18pts. 46.93%
