As Ling said Lycett had a closed fist, so he'll probably go. Soft punch and Vickery carried on like he'd been shot from the grassy knoll.

Few injuries now to Richmond, has Hardwick asked to shorten the game?

With Hamspon going down Vickery and Chaplin have been sharing the ruck duties and honestly they have done ok. Chaplin has actually been ok.

Low impact. Low force. Low everything. Surely a reprimand at worst. You don't miss a week(s) for that.

This is their 30th year.

Unlike us humans football clubs don't need to exist for a year befote you turn one.

1987 they were born, that's 1.....2016 = 30.

MCG already looks a treat. Farmers markets, etc and is already the most sponsored game of any codes history. Plenty of money being raised for the CFA too. Will be over 60k there today.

PS Happy 29th birthday West Coast.

Last night WC wore a gold guernsey, Richmond have a large gold sash on their's, the umpires wear their bright light green.
Stupidity at its best. The AFL need to go back to colour coding the umpires so they don't clash with the players. They simply could've worn red last night & there would be no issue. This is not hard to work out.

I know this has been discussed ad nauseam before in other threads, but I can't resist!

I have to agree with Wedgie. If you want to celebrate an 'anniversary' or 'birthday', you need to be around for at least a year. Customarily, we celebrate birthdays in years, and 'anniversary' literally means the turning or passage of a year because it it combines Latin words for 'year' and 'turn'. :-B

Righto, back to 'football', which is an amalgam of the English words 'foot' and 'ball'. ;)

Yep, Sheeds cops a heap of flak but he looks like he is on to another winner here. Both clubs have done a ton of work to make this event happen and it looks like it will become a yearly fixture.

Really good start by the Bombers, having a real dip at the Cats. Pressure from both sides is impressive
