Re: SAAFL Division 7 2014
I think the point is with Flinders Park is regardless of who you have from last years C or D grade side, the fact remains you have been able to drop a side and remain in the lowest grade.
At least should've played in Div 7 and if you copped floggings so be it.

Or maybe play C grade against your mob in C4. That's fair don't you think ?

Actually yes I do think it's fairer strangely enough.
You're a C grade side - and one that has had considerable sustained success recently, if you want to continue competing in an A grade comp ie Div 7 then surely you get treated the same, otherwise play C grade divisions.
Although probably a poor comparison, imagine if Kilburn & Brahma decided to compete in the reserve grade? People would kick up a monster stink

Do you seriously think we wanted to play div 7 reserves mate!! It was out of our hands.
Would we like to have both sides C and D grade yes but we don't.

For us it fell apart real quick, by the time we realised we were struggling for numbers it was too late.
For a club that has 4 grades we need at least 50 or so to fill both teams.
I think we lost around 30 blokes from last years C and D's.
So answer is "NO"

As the Cows says when the wheels fell off it was very late. The club did their best to get the team into C2 which ties up with our A's & B's. Unfortunately that grade was full and the association put us in D7R. I think the boys probably would have preferred to play in one of the C grade comps but that option was not avaliable. In regard to 18's playing I'm not sure. I'm not a player and haven't been for sometime. I'm just an interested observer

Re: SAAFL Division 7 2014
interesting range of results occurring so far...
smithfield smash uni at uni by 10 goals from memory
uni smash houghton at houghton by about 8 goals
houghton smash wingfield by 30 goals
modbury smash wingfield also by 30 goals
henley gets past modbury a week later after also getting just pass shocs
but shocs then come out and smash north pines by 10-15 goals
and smosh in their only game got a nice mauling by smithfield
are we looking at a 50 goal win for smithfield when they play wingfield?

Re: SAAFL Division 7 2014
My feeling is Wingfield are a better side at home, but I do wonder how many of the ring-ins will stick around if they keep getting belted?
North Pines will get better, I don't think all their 'ins' played on the weekend.
Football math doesn't usually add up though.
