The Tasmania JackJumpers have signed import David Johnson to a one-year deal. He's a 6'4" SG who previously played a couple of games with the Toronto Raptors and played in the G-League last season.

The NBL have announced they're sending a select team of players to Japan to play a two game series against a team representing the B.League, Japan's top-tier basketball league to strengthen relations between the two leagues. The two games will be played on the 28th and 29th June in Gunma and the NBL Select team will be coached by Simon Mitchell, former SE Melbourne Phoenix coach.

The 36ers have announced the hiring of assistant coaches Kerry Williams and Luke Cann. Williams has spent the past four seasons as an AC at the Cairns Taipans and coaches the Cairns Marlins in the NBL1 North and Cann was an AC at the Brisbane Bullets last season and coaches the Logan Thunder in the NBL1 North.

Both will join senior assistant coach Marko Marinovic and development coaches Igor Cvjetovic and Jakob Dorricott on Mike Wells' coaching staff.

In other news Sydney Kings coach Brian Goorjian will be joining the New York Knicks coaching staff for the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
