Re: Great Southern Cricket Association
Simple, because Aldinga haven't been their in recent years. Doesn't change the facts tho.
Encounter Bay V McLaren - We are all saying the Bays are the team to beat and I think they will take care of McLaren quite comfortably. Ifould dominated us last game with the bat but has struggled against the other top 4 sides, apart from 41 rd 1 against Compass. If he doesn't fire, then it will be interesting to see if the young brigade of Altus and Chambers can perform come the business end. Especially against the fire of Moules and Butler.
Mt Compass V Willunga - This will no doubt be a lot closer than people think. Im hearing people writing Willunga off but I wouldn't be so certain. Big Plugs has stepped up but needs more support from the others. The experience of Nash, Tucker and Num will be essential. These two sides have always battled hard, especially in finals, and have no doubt they can do it again. Willunga's batting looks susceptible at times and tucker and nash are as good as there is so it will be key their top order do the job. I have no doubt whoever wins this match might very well knock off either the Bays or McLaren next week.
Good luck to all clubs playing finals and I'm looking forward to coming along and watching some ripper cricket.

Come along to Goolwa and you can give Coxy another verbal hammering! I wonder if Trappers will be at Pt Elliot to continue his duel with Cam?

Re: Great Southern Cricket Association
whos tipping who this weekend in the prelim final? compass or mclaren? hard one and could go either way i think. maybe nashy to drag his boys into another GF if you had to pick one.
who tipping who for the cricketer of the year?
will be an interesting call, benno started white hot but went a little cold. num 350 runs and 25 wickets. JI 300 runs and 30. hoffmann 500 runs 15 wickets. quite a few that could take it home.

Could also add Lintern to that list of candidates - 400+ runs & 20 wickets!
And my smokey would be Jake Grenfell with 270 runs and 47 dropped catches for the year!

Think Nashy will inspire his boys to victory this weekend. He has a lion heart and will do what it takes to get the victory!

Im very hurt, and promise to retire at the end of our season!!!!!!

Re: Great Southern Cricket Association
Any update from scores thus far...
A Grade overnight
McLaren 133 all out, Mt Compass 0/8. Could go either way this match just hopefully the weather doesn't play too many tricks
C Grade
Pt Elliot made 190 odd I believe..
Any scores from the B Grade at all?

Re: Great Southern Cricket Association
Compass fell short today, being knocked over for 102. Well done to McLaren, lead by a stella bowling performance by Nairn 17 overs, 7 maidens, 5/24 is a fair effort by the young unit!
Encounter Bay would be feeling fairly confident after pretty convincing performances so far this year against the Vale, restricting them to scores of 95 (Rd 4), 122 (Rd 9), 105 (SF) in their 3 matches this season. McLaren will have to find an answer to the Overall/ Moller combo that proved lethal in the Semi Final.
COY contender Ifould is having a very lean finals series with scores of 2, 0 and no wickets, will need to lift for his side to take it up to The Bays. Chambers looked quality yesterday and with Altus will be big wickets for The Bays.
Was lucky enough to listen to some of the great Timmy Kovaloff's cricket insights whilst watching the game at Pt Elliot yesterday and he believes Bodie could be the key for McLaren. Quote "Bodie was always a very talented junior but he just play's too square" (T. Kovaloff, 2013). Not sure what Timmy was on about for most of that conversation but Bodie was the rock the Vale boys needed in the middle order yesterday and will no doubt take it to the bays next weekend!

Re: Great Southern Cricket Association
Well done to the McLaren boys, fantastic win to defend 130... could not believe it when i heard that they had won. Feel sorry for Compass, great bunch of lads & had a great year! McLaren finishing in the top 2, defz deserved to be playing in the GF though. Heard young Nairn bowled well & also heard that Bodie Wilson looked in great touch with the bat!!! & ball???
Would love some in depth Grand Final previews from WIW, Tony, Richard Chee Quee, Jimmy & maybe even one from The Neck Breather.

Will be disappointing if we never see these two superstars in the A Grade again.. They are the heart and soul of Mt Compass and always give a great contest! I will definitely miss the challenge of playing against these two greats!

Will preview the game a little closer to the day mr instinct. Too much golf to be played between now and then!!!
I sincerely hope both nummy and nashy go around again. The association will be much poorer if they don't.

I agree Jimmy & RCQ, Love em, Hate em, or Love to Hate em
the association can ill afford to lose the quality that these 2 have in buckets. If they are done, there will be some very big shoes (metaphorically speaking Tony) to fill at Compass!!!
Good luck in retirement, you have earned it!
Best of luck to Ebay and McVale on the weekend, may the weather play no part!
