No, that's accidental contact in a contest going for a loose ball, nothing like Gibbs/Gray.
Clearly Gibbs had an option, bury Gray into the turf or (among other things) collapse his own legs to bring Gray to the ground. He chose to bury him, that's the bottom line, Gibbs chose to sling Gray to the ground and as a result Gray was injured.

If you want to go far, go together.

But if Gray wasn't concussed/injured then Gibbs wouldn't have been sighted, yeah?

Lightning McQueen wrote:Apparently so.
It comes down to intent, where the contact was made, impact and did it cause the player to require medical attention.
I'm not sure what you are getting at?
It is of my opinion that if a player suffers a head injury from a tackle or bump, he is most likely going to receive a penalty.
There was no intent so it stops there, everything else would've stuffed him unfortunately.

Yeah, could've stopped once he retarded him, adrenaline kicked in though and the aggressive nature of the tackle caused the concussion.

Re: Carlton 2015
Gray didn't make much of an effort to free an arm....he had plenty of time to at least try?
But with the clean game we have now he was always going to get 2.
Tackling to hurt is long gone now.

Whether we agree or not, this is the case, correct. As is a good old hip'n'shoulder.

That's for the MRP to consider, not me. IMO, no, probably not. Probably not. Once again though, Gibbs was the one who made the decision to throw a bloke who had no chance to protect himself to the ground. You make that choice you bear the consequences.

Re: Carlton 2015
I don't the game is any worse off for getting rid of the ricciuto-kemp style hip and shoulder. In terms of the rest of the rough conduct stuff I think they have gone about as far as they should go imo.

Re: Carlton 2015
can the suns knock off the mighty blues at etihad
16th vs 18th
Carlton is the No.1 centre clearance team this season, averaging 15.1 a game. The Suns are fifth in this area at 13 a match.
The Suns have had only two wins in 10 matches at Etihad Stadium
CArltons first visit to etihad with Jonny barker
Are any of these INS for Gold Coast in their top 22 (Agraders)???...
Steven May?, Harley Bennell?, Sam Day, Alex Sexton?, Matt Shaw?

May, Bennell and Day are easily in Gold Coast best 22 at full strength. Depending on who you ask even Sexton is.

Sam Day... no unfortunately. He's played 60 odd games for 40 odd goals as a key forward. I think we should look at him as a CHB if he is shown the door at the Suns.

I wonder if Jim is a little concerned. I seem to remember him saying that Essendon already had enough wins to finish ahead of the Blues...

1 win plus %
Not sure about the playing pretty well bit. Struggled against the worst side in the comp at home, on todays performance you wouldnt of beaten anyone else but us. I think we have 1-2 wins tops left in us, you guys probably the same. Might come down to %. We were ok for about 2 and a half quarters against a very good Hawks side and starting to get a few guys back from injury. A similar effort to yesterday may snare us a win or two. Id still have both of us pencilled in for bottom 4 though, depends who wants the better draft pick

Hey, I'm a realist, we most probably won't win any of our next 5 but I love the way we're going about it with a fair to muddling list. And our ability to work through the situation today was great. I thought we were really ordinary in the first today and should've been 4 goals down at least. Against a good side, we would've been that far down and been buried by half time. The way we started the second was great and torched any come backs by steadying the tempo when required.
Menzel's knee concerns me. Hopefully that's ok! We need him. In fact we need everyone up and running if we're to counter the Bullies next week.
I love the fact we're playing free flowing footy, circa 2010! Yarran, when he gets the ball looks like he has options, unlike under Mick where he'd have to stop and prop because he had no one (or Jones, same diff) ahead of him. Tuohy's rebounding is fantastic as well and even Denis looks promising under Barks. Question is, when do we get Jamo back??????? Crikey we need him. And Jaksch.

Re: Carlton 2015
Hehe, look at all the Carlton supporters up and about
So you should be though, look a lot better than a month ago.
Still dont think your list in general is very average, but at least they seem to be playing with a bit of freedom
