Don't mclaren play for b grade flags ?? I mean you don't fork out and cash for those ones plus when the a grade can't make the finals you can drop half the team back to b grade

If this is the case maybe they should be recruiting better B Grade footballers and not worry about the A Grade. Encounter Bay will be hard to beat I would have thought after a solid start to their season as well.

McLaren A grade did make finals last year..

I think you would see that mclaren have never dropped A grade players back to play in B grade flags.

I'm thinking the reason McLaren are quite strong in the Reserves (even though they are lower down the ladder in the A Grade), is that the club is located on the fringe of the city, so has a population to draw from. Willunga are obviously strong in the Reserves too, but McLaren perhaps have an advantage of fringe (League) players being prepared to stay around at the club, as it would be easier to make the A Grade side than it would be at Willunga.

Not much has been said about their early season form, 3 W's and 1 L in both grades, beating the higher fancied Yank and Creek. Don't recall many tipping them to finish out of the bottom three. What's been the main reasons for early form? Underrated or getting lucky on the day?

Strath just knocked off willunga on their home deck by 2 points. fair to say any of the top 5 teams will be in with a real chance come finals.

Some interesting results today with Strath knocking of Willunga by 2pts on their home deck is a great win also Goolwa showing some good signs tacking Victor apart by a couple of goals and McLaren beating Yank by 8pts,be interesting if the Mudlarks get up tonite.

WOW What a round of footy in GSFL today ?
Who would've thought that the 3 teams who have dominated the last 2 seasons, Creeks, Willunga and Yank would ALL LOSE to teams that were cellar dwellers last season ?
At this stage, have never known the results to be so unpredictable.
Great for the comp.
Creeks looked back on track in the 1st term against Pongy in the night game at the Creek leading 5 goals to 2 but from then on the lights went out for the Creek and Myponga/Sellicks dominated from there on to take the win 15 - 9 to Creeks 10 -9. Creeks are in serious trouble and would be a big surprise if they even make the 5 the way they are travelling.

Correct. Think he played for Henley last year and got named on the interchange in Div 1 team of year. Handy replacement for Baulderstone who was doing great for Norwood before breaking his hand.

Very optimistic there TLM.
Yes, they still have a good spread of past premiership players but they cant do it alone and the 10 or so replacements are simply not the quality or the experience of the 10 that are missing. As a result, such is the strength of the comp, the Creeks are mow struggling to win games and now copping a few injuries to some key players to further undermine their cause.

Took the family to the game awesome sight to see a club go to these lengths for breast cancer pink from the gate box to the club the raffles pink ball jumpers excellent the game won by bays the difference was a best on ground performance by the ex crow perrie he was everywhere don't worry what anyone says he was superb only down side was after the game the extremely poor showing by encounter bay not coming into the club including the coach who walked straight past the front of the club POOR FORM boys

There were a FEW that came in.. Coach had something on in town.. had to head back.. funny we can start this again if you like.. last week the Creek didnt come in to the Bay either...
