6 per spell and 16 for the day. Rest period is the length of the spell. No restrictions for limited overs games I think too.The Dark Knight wrote:What is the maximum amount of overs an under 16/17 can bowl in a days play Heater? Major changes to the Under 16 age group are now combined with Under 17's and they can now bowl an extra 2 overs per day's play.....
Under 19's have had 1 off chopped off their maximum per spell to 7 overs. Still can bowl 20 per day's play.
I remember back in juniors our max per spell was 6 and you had to wait an hour before bowling a second spell, so usually you'd only bowl 12 in a day.

We used to be allowed 6 in the first 30 and then open slather after that for PDCA, I'd get about 14 in for the day in morning cricket and then SACA was a max of 20 for the day in the afternoon.
I bowled 40 in a day as a 16 year old in my second senior SACA match, bowled non-stop til the lunch break, ate like a pig during the break expecting to be resting in the gully area for a while but got chucked the ball again on the way back out...................eek.

They are getting hardly any through, generally the kids from Barossa rather play A grade at their home club instead of fighting through the District Grades.
Even if this trend changed this year they only had 1 team in the 16s last season.
Many choose to return home due to lack of opportunities, poor coaching or a lack of "love" to not only the players but also the families who travel as no accomodations are made re presentations etc
A number of juniors from last year are looking at other district clubs for the remainder of there junior SACA years, and other clubs are more than welcoming

Not sure if anyone else drove past, but the new uni playing grounds opposite harbour town resembled wet lands over the weekend. Assuming it was a burst water main it had the entire 4 ovals completely underwater with basically 4 floating squares the only parts visible.

Yep led to believe that a burst water main was the cause....Slidingdoors wrote:Not sure if anyone else drove past, but the new uni playing grounds opposite harbour town resembled wet lands over the weekend. On another note somehow the worst ground at any level of grade cricket has got worse with the council now severely restricting car parking with landscaping at Christies Beach High....

Is the landscaping on school land?

Played my first district 14's game there, after scoring 70 and picking up a few wickets in morning cricket I was invited out to play in the district team for round 2.
Picked up a few wickets as we rolled Southern for around 120, had to bat for one over so we were asked who'd like to open as nightwatchman, I got the nod for it and strode out to the middle only to have this kid be the quickest thing I'd faced at that stage of my career and swung the ball in a mile, I got bowled 3rd ball of our innings and then the regular opener came in and he was bowled first ball, great start, welcome to district cricket you hack!
My fellow dismissed batsman and I thought we'd go for a stroll the next week during our innings, we got lost and we're gone for half the day, I was very popular with the coach and his mum who was doing the scoring.

Adelaide Uni doing what they do best, poaching Under 18 players. I am glad all the other 12 clubs provide them with developing players for their recruiting

Due diligence and lack of knowledge?? Where I come from it's called arrogance and thinking they are above everything with no repercussions
