I am, very sure. Thought you might get there after my last post but you obviously haven't.
Move on buddy, I'll explain it next time we catch up. :D

Mick said Cornes got upset because you swore.

I said I dont think it was the swearing that upset him and Mick had missed the point if he thought that's what upset Cornes.

Right, got it.

I qualified that by saying abuse/taunting, but I'm sure Cornesy doesn't want swearing either.

Wondered if this would be bought up.

Footy's a game and no one, players or spectators, should expect to be laughed at if they get hurt. Says more about the person doing the laughing IMHO.

That more people agree with Cornes is the really funny point here. :D

You must have missed the part on friday night when a heap of norwood supporters were giving it to lokan when he was crunched and limping around on the wing

Geez, if this much attention comes about after 1 person made a comment, then there should be a whole website and advertiser lift out regarding the comments/abuse Lokan got friday night..

Yes. Every clubs supporters have a crack. Topsy, defend your fellow Norwood supporters actions last Friday night. They may have upset Papa Lokan.

And they're morons too.

It's such a shame two blokes arguing at the footy has been blown up by an idiot with a rampant ego who uses their position in local footy media to not only always have the last word but also bang on endlessly about the fantastic things they once did.

I was waiting for it. It's fair enough too, there's some damned morons in that lot and they make me want to facepalme some days. Cannot defend. One bloke from that group got in the poo for shouting out racist comments and embarrassed everyone involved with the club. I'm no longer friends with him because he wouldn't man up and apologise to the player and the player's family who happened to be sitting nearby, it was the old "oh it must've been someone else and we didn't see who did it".

Every clubs supporter group contains these idiots and Cornes has a point. The odd swear word isn't the problem, you hear that everyday and even on on TV these days, but the moronic comments sometimes go beyond banter and clever banter* isn't what people have a problem with. It's not about being 'sterile' it's about having some kind of boundary. Like when a certain club had a couple of supporters screaming out comments about Bali when they were playing Sturt, it shouldn't be up to the opposition to have "common sense" and stay away from the drunks. People who say crap like that should be kicked out.

I had to listen to this East Perth feral for most of Sunday screaming out like a psycho that he was going to wait for the umpire out in the carpark and break his f**ing legs. I mean come on, that stuff if just cringeworthy.

One problem is with the crowds in the SANFL and WAFL being smaller, those kinds of comments are heard just about all around the ground where as in the past it might have been drowned out and only your mates and a few people around you heard it. This is why it's unnecessary.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

great post barto.

we all expect to be sworn at during the game and mostly its taken as a compliment because your giving their team a bath.

but there is a line and it was crossed.racial abuse and taunting an injured player is not acceptable.

Storm in a teacup seriously, players all the time will have a crack at someone injured. Its part of the game, AFL even suspended a bloke last week for it.

And we are worried that a spectator said a flippant remark that the player had no hope of hearing? And some take the remark seriously? I would have thought most of us have spent years on a hill at a SANFL game and if we are going to start moderating that it will be a pretty lonely hill later in the season.

As for a relative hearing the comment, again do you think you would be worried about what someone said? You would have heard all sorts if you followed your sons career prior to making in to league level.

Seriously.

Exactly, and that was the point I was trying to make. Cornes using the words 'broken leg' is slightly different to a fractured ankle. Graham not truly reflecting the incident there and making it sound worse than what it is, not that a fractured ankle is any good at all.

By no means am I playing down the severity of the injury at all, young Andrew Bradley can't seem to take a trick at the moment with inury but his so called 'broken leg' wasn't like that of Chad O'Sullivan's or Logan Hill's. Slight exaggeration from Studley I think.

so what if it was? Wedgie wasn't to know. should Wedgie noe apologise & maybe apply a self-enforced ban from the footy for 1 round? Wait.....that's been done before!
