ahhh i see....

Ok so in that theory, Rance is cooked cause he got injured. Half of GWS list and especially Patton. Or any other player who missed any chunk of the season...

He was training at full pace by seasons end...

Settle petal. I know you love him but take the blinkers off and look and what has happened and what is happening.

The fact is Franklin is about to turn 33, he missed 4 weeks early this year and then 8 weeks late with a hamstring, not ideal for a 6'9" 33 year old, yeah?

All the noise around the AFL trade circles is Sydney want Daniher, have you considered why? Would it be to play alongside Franklin in the square? My uneducated guess is they're planning for life after Franklin.

Nonsensical?

How do you pay 2 forwards a million a season each?
Sydney’s defenders play for free or something?

Look Boon, firstly 6'9  6'6...

Of course Joe is the succession plan...

The word i am hearing he is going to be in the best shape he's been in for a couple of years. They clearly managed him this year and attended to all his issues. Just what i am hearing.

So, it's almost like they know Franklin is near the end?

I could mount a case that he's in the top 3 of players I've seen in my time, in full flight he's as brilliant to watch as anyone. Are we going to see that many more times? I doubt it. Do Sydney know that? Shit yes.

3. He'll be going 36 when his last year starts.

Absolutely, he makes my all-time starting line-up, his long range goal kicking is something that is 2nd to none, it's a bloody fine line when to leave the game as you don't want to be a burden on your team and rob a kid of a spot developing (ala Brad Johnson) and you don't want to leave the game while you're still producing quality footy (ala Luke Hodge).

Buddy still has the elegance and skill for the top level but when them old hammies start pinging, they cannot be managed, just taking off on the wrong foot or turning to go the opposite direction will see a 4-6 week break.

A little off topic I know..... but at full flight who would you rather at CHF - Buddy, Sticks, Dermie or Carey?

When people say Carey

I assume they've they're talking about the 1973 SANFL GF one....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
