Always subjective these things - Shiel rates 2 but imho the Bombers have been better without him (maybe coincidental?)

No mention of Butters' importance to our line up.

Stat they showed on 360 not long after he went down with injury, based on rating points, had him easily the most important player to a teams winning ratio across the entire competition.

You have depth to cover him so lessens the impact

Incorrect, we have some depth, but we don't have depth to cover him. We have Ladhams to replace Lycett, McKenzie to replace Clurey, SPP to replace Rockliff, we don't have another Butters on the shelf though.

His energy and his pressure sets the standard for us around the ball, every club has that one player with the spark, with the intangible ingredient they bring to the group, I think Butters is ours.

And that is why you ain't winning 3 premierships in 5 years and why your club needs to stop making stupid statements to that effect.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

I reckon Butters was there best pick up. Really good player, can find the goals as well. I wouldn't mind him out West.

How is his age or experience relevant? The only measure is how important he is to us and at the moment I think he's very important.

Not saying you aren't right, but you have done OK without him also.

IMO if you lost Wines or Boak you would be in much more pain.

Surely Dixon is the most important player.
You can’t replace him.

Correct, 9-3 and it's all doom and gloom down at Alberton. ;) I think we have players who are closer to Wines and Boak, like Drew, SPP, Rozee than we do a like for like for Butters.

Agreed, just as hard to replace but Butters brings that intangible to the table, not just structure or role, he's the energy in our side. It is damning in some ways that a 3rd year player is so highly rated but again, age/experience aren't the measure. Look how important Walsh is to Carlton right now.

Lycett is our battery, we can't function without him, Ladhams is a work in progress, I'd prefer him getting exposure still though at the expense of Marshall.

We seen how important Boak's presence is when we played Brisbane without him.

While you are correct about our inability to replace Dixon, I think it's more of a case that we re-model our game plan to suit if he isn't out there, more focus on our multiple scoring options, skill and speed.

I'd rather see Ladhams leading the ruck right now, I think he's a better option against the genuine star ruckman who Lycett can't go with.

Gawn is the only star ruckmen in the top 4 right now.

Best of your young guns I reckon. Hope he can return to the field sooner rather than later. Too many injuries these days.

Probably equal to Rozee.
Rozee could be better than Gray.
