Are we any closer to knowing what these muppets are going to call themselves? I know what I'll be calling them

They'd probably doctor the results so it looks like they picked the same one.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Re: Adelaide Crows Reserves 2014
Speaking of backflips, does anyone remember this hilarious chestnut?
I'm amazed that we haven't yet seen published on the SANFL and AFC website a list of SANFL clubs who've opted in and out to the 'backup players' arrangement. In much the same way that I'm amazed that the Crows didn't turn down the invitation to join the SANFL when they didn't get a unanimous vote. If only these things were written for honesty up-front, this 'rule' would have read more like:
- SANFL Clubs can opt in / out of providing top up players to the AFC.
- SANFL Clubs must make the decision on in /out by November 1st.

- SANFL Clubs can opt in to providing top up players to the AFC. Technically, they could opt out, but they wouldn't be silly enough to do that, would they?
- SANFL Clubs must make the decision on in by November 1st... or December 1st... or January 1st... or February 1st... or March 1st... or however long it takes for us to twist their arms. Bruno and Blocker aren't going anywhere, sunshine—and the kebab shop up the road delivers to us, but not to you. We can wait as long as it takes.

Probably voted themselves for that guernsey a few thousand times to make sure it got over the line

Been around long have ya mate, one of the conditions of entry was they were not allowed to wear their AFL guernsey.
Adhering to rules and regulations, crazy concept for the Crows i know
Wasn't aware of that.

Unfortunately for all those on here making false assertions, the fact is that the guernsey picked by the fans is the one that the AFC have gone with. (ie the V style).

Callinan has been confirmed as a Ravens player for next year, he'll also take on a "assistant development" coaching role there as well

Not much they can say, he could have stayed at the Dogs but chose another club

Was a lot of chest beating about how he wouldn't play against the CDFC

Completely understand why he made the decision. Probably not a difficult one in the end, money and a career. He's been a fantastic player for us and a great bloke. Another player we have to replace.
Another reason I hate this reserves decision and hope it blows up in the face of the clubs that voted it in.

Re: Adelaide Crows Reserves 2014
For all the talk of 'one leadership player', the Crows can bring in whomever they want and pay them as much as they want. Just hire them as assistant coaches. Or, in homage to The Office, Assistants to the Coaches. Anyway, you pay them a pittance for running around and playing footy, and a (state league) fortune for 'developing the junior members of the group' and 'leading by example'.
Here's an excellent plan for circumventing the salary cap (let's face it, the comp has already thrown away its credibility, so the gloves are off): if the Crows can, why can't every SANFL team have a playing assistant coach? Or more than one? "We can only squeeze in $25k of our cap for your playing fees—but luckily an assistant midfield coach spot just became vacant. And you're the perfect candidate."
Sam Lonergan, Leader of Men: come on down!
