Even the 89 Roosters team that only kicked one goal in the GF shat all over the Crows line up with from distant memory the likes of Jonno Roberts, Doug Smart, Darrell Hart, Sticks Phillips, Bennett and A Jarman or two.
Woodville generally had all through the 80s a ripper forward line but not much defense with likes of... Blight , Beecroft, Nicholls, Jackovich and Harris all kicking 100 plus and CHFs like Klug and Andrew Taylor with Ralphy Zip Zap in a pocket.

He is on the crows list.
And the guy obviously meant Chris knights, and was unaware that he had been traded. He has been injured...

I thought abuse and name calling was banned on this forum. Generally a good indication when someone is well and truly beat when they have to resort to abuse. You seem to resort to this more than most,

I didn't realise Beecroft kicked the ton - I don't recall this Harris, any info?
Some great players in that list!!

I'm with you & all the crow haters on this. Stupid thing to say "has there ever been a better forward line in the SANFL". Statements like that are the reason people hate the crows & their supporters.
On the abuse thing, I recall you called me a halfwit once to try & end a discussion. Does that mean you were beat

F ; Russell Ebert, Tim Evans, Ginevar
HF ; Craig Bradley, Dwayne Russell, Williams
I would say there has been many better looking forward lines. The Port one of the early 80s was unbelievable as was a Glenelg ones featuring the likes of Kernahan, Copping, Hodgeman, McGuiness and Tony Hall.
Perhaps you are very young but your miles off in your statement
Dwayne Russell was massively overrated imho .. The others were all stars. You could throw Bomber Clifford into that mix too.

Kevin Harris, from Mt Gambier ... could run through brick walls ... but he didn't kick 100 goals in a season.

SANFL trailing behind the goals hoovering camera up at Clare Oval on the weekend. The two lads connected with Google were at the southern end of Freeling Oval last night videotaping training and making sure it is ready to go by Sunday. The boys said it was brand new first time they and it has been used.

I think the forward line of:
Alleway Thorp Muir
Hooper, Kirkby, Bailey
proved that it was better last Friday night. Just saying....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Didnt he kick a hundred in the WAFL or maybe it was another league? I could be wrong it was 30 years ago. Correct though he didnt kick the ton in the SANFL but when he came to the Peckers I remember them saying he had kicked a ton.

Remember KH well, but wasn't sure if you had another Harris playing up forward.

Re: Rnd 5 - Adelaide v Port Magpies @ Clare Oval (Sun 4/5)
Wrong Kevin, fellas.
Thinking of Kevin Taylor. Rover kicked 102 goals for East Fremantle in 1979. Far as I know he's the ONLY rover to kick a ton at league level.
Played one season for Torrens in 1987.
The 70s and 80s were ridiculously high-scoring decades that we'll probably never see again.
Trevor Pierson kicked 104 goals back in '82 for a Woodville side that won one game for the year. ONE! And that game was a shootout with over 50 goals scored...

Port's 1980 team was probably its most potent forward line.
Kicked 'em from everywhere that year.
Same with Westies in 1983.
Glenelg in '85 and North in '87 were scary, too.
Some of you older bastards can sort out the 70s...

The great Port forward lines of the 90's mentioned above forgot the great Spiro Melakelis!

Very young Warren Tredrea - 17 - in that '96 team. He was only a spare wheel, really.
Scotty had a stop/start career with Port in the 90s. Obviously sensational in '90, '94 and '96 when he kicked the ton. But he was mainly with the Crows between '91-93. And '95 was pretty much a write off after breaking his ankle in round one.
Clearly a great forward line in the 90s but I reakon the others were more explosive and dangerous, especially if you break it down to seasons.
Of course, that could be because of the changing game and style of play, too...

John Cahill's live interview after a loss in '95 about Waterhouse and Olsen, when they were both kicking goals - and IIRC both played for SA? - still cracks me up:
"I've got the two best half-forwards in the state running around like long-haired louts!"

I reckon our 70s forward line was probably better than our 80s
Phillis, Hodgeman, Carey, Copping, Cornes - (when he came off ball) and any other player rotating through (Tardif, Tregenza, McInnerny Caldwell, Marker)
