Didn' t think the umpires influenced the game one bit.

Sturt clearly the better side and probably should have won by more

They did their homework and cut the North playmakers right out the game

Good quality game from what I saw on the DP, a bit bruise free but was some quality ball movement from both teams.

Thanks for taking the trouble to post each score as it happened Locky.
I had to catch a plane to Sydney today and couldn't even check the scores until now, but thanks to you I could start this thread at page 1 and follow it through to the end, watching the lead open up and close when North came back repeatedly.
Looks as though it was a cracker of a game.
Sturt needed the win more desperately than North would be my explanation for the result. We have Norwood next week and then the Eagles. A loss here and we would be in possible danger of missing the top three altogether. North I imagine got a real good look at the best of what Sturt could throw at them, while perhaps keeping something in reserve.

But then I'd know bugger all having missed the game entirely, maybe somebody who actually saw the game could cast some light on the idea that North were perhaps content with just testing out a possible finals opponent?
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Sturt won the game in the first quarter- from then on, North clawed back, Sturt kicked away, it was a very competitive game.
As North were coming off of a week off, I was never confident of the win, but happy that they didn't allow themselves to be blown away.

Geezus! Just saw Allmond's 75 metre goal. Biggest goal I've seen for years not involving the ball bouncing!
Possibly thebiggest since Blight!

Yeah it was an absolute belter. Probably just the North connection, but it reminded me of when Damon White kicked that bomb at Adelaide Oval in the mid-2000s. I know that one bounced, but he kicked it from the centre circle!

A team top of the ladder who could have put a gap on the chasing pack just content with testing out an opposition? Having a laugh i reckon

Played some footy with Jezza in juniors and seniors and seen him dob them from 55 plenty of times. Said to my mate he'll kick this and was laughed at. Didn't just make it either cleared by a couple of metres

Good point, but I saw North strangle the life out of us at Unley earlier this year. When they put things together, I reckon there will be no stopping them.
Flag favourites for mine.
