I think it might be time for 'Media' Mike Teakle to retire his BLCA Cricket column in the herald...He now seems to be unable to get the names of players correct even with MyCricket. Apparently Kris Vanderloo the ex South Gawler and West Adelaide footballer is opening the batting for Gilbert Valley. In Mike's defence though this week he actually did manage to figure out which team had batted first...

How old is the guy running the association?
Are they playing pass the parcel at presentation night too?

No but they are playing musical chairs at the next BLCA meeting involving the heirarchy

Hot weekend, weather n cricket wise but tipping the following;
centrals will beat ango by 30 odd runs
sandy will comfortably beat nuri
kapunda to beat tanunda but not outright
GV to roll south by 40 runs

So the heat rule still only applies at 40 at Elizabeth right?

Senior Competitions
(a) If the estimated temperature is 35 to 40 degrees drinks should be taken at 40 to 45 minute intervals.
(b) If the estimated temperature is 38 to 40 degrees drinks should be taken at 40 to 45 minute intervals, the square leg umpire should carry a drink bottle and the bowlers or batsmen may call for a drink at any break in play.
Substitute fielders should be allowed, at any time, to rest a player affected by the temperatures and batsmen may retire, for the same reason, at any time. Such retired batsmen may return at the fall of a wicket. Fielders leaving the field, due to the effect of heat, will not be penalised by the relevant Law of Cricket.
(c) In instances where the temperature is forecasted, on the TV weather news for the area ( ELIZABETH), on the evening prior to the day's play, to be 40 degrees or more all games will be cancelled for the day.
In instances where the 1st day's play (of a two (2) day game) is lost due to heat management or hot weather the game will be played as a one day game the following Saturday (See Lost Time Bylaw).
Where Day 2 play's cancelled due to heat management or hot weather the match should be declared a draw unless a first innings decision had been reached on Day 1.

Oh and just so u know it wasn't our game to put them up.

Stir as much as you want mate, Ango 2 to 1 up so far this year. In saying that I will give credit where credit is due and think that Centrals have one hand on the cup right at this minute. Batting line up that can make a big score and can follow it up with the ball, would certainly be favourites by beating Ango and also with South knocking off GV. Is it going to be the year of the tiger!!!!

Rematch may only be 2 weeks away.
Reckon after todays results Ango might be sitting 4th and Centrals top.
Kapunda's outright may have pushed them to 3rd.

Some very rough sums on the back of an Assenders Bakery pie bag had us top from gv by 30 runs. The top 4 are all within 8 points and the bottom 4 can please themselves at the moment...

Yep.
Cant see anyone shedding a tear over South being relegated, bunch of knobs.
As ordinary as Tanunda was its never good to lose a turf side from the 1's although i think Tanunda oval was out of action until Chrissy anyway. Feels strange not having Nuri and Sandy in the finals.

An amazing year with both Sandy n Nuri not even making the finals when ya would pegged em for certain finalists at the start of the season. Some iof the potential finalist have brittle batting lineups, Ango n Central included. Who knows what GV will do any day. Kapunda quietly building up steam. Team to be wary of?

Really good wrap up of the final 4.... Kapunda definitely playing good cricket now, and Gawler Centrals been best team since Xmas. But be very weary of writing of the bulls and the panthers just yet, both sides been cemented in finals for weeks and are probably allowed to slip up once or twice... Let's get this last game out the way and bring on finals.
