Pearl Jam - Playing in California that day as part of a festival.
Foo Fighters - Playing in California the day after as per of the same festival.
Ed Sheeran - Playing in California preliminary final weekend
2014 - Ed Sheeran performed "Sing" and "The A Team" and was then joined by Sir Tom Jones where they sang "Kiss", "Mama Told Me Not to Come", "Delilah" and "If I Only Knew".

Daddy Cool, 100,000 pants around the ankles would be some sort of spectacle.
I'd
almost take Darryl Braithwaite doing Horses on repeat. And I f*cking hate that song.

Plenty doing great things.
Flume would be an extremely popular choice with the 16-35 year olds as an example.
If they wanted to go down the path of 'old legendary bands' plenty of Aussie bands from the 90's./2000's big day out era that would be better value than dinosaur KISS who will only hold interest in those 45-50 and over.

Shit if we are just going to get old skool legendary bands 40 years pas there prime play songs weve heard a billion times might as well just run with:
Start with Up there Gazaly: Mike Brady to get the ground pumping
Hit me with your best shot: Pat Benatar
When the boys light up; Australian Crawl
Finish with Holy Grail: Hunter & Collectors to get the feels

No, no, NO.
It's easy to be critical of who the AFL gets yet nobody has really given an alternative that would work.
It can't be too hard or heavy ( Parkway Drive - I'd be happy with that! ) or unknown / alternative ( Doja Cat, Dua Lipa ).
It has to be somewhere in the centre that most people will know. Even when they do go off centre ( Baker Boy ) he does a Kylie Minogue cover....
If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

Rufus Du Sol, Boy & Bear are some Aus alternative.
Arctic Monkeys, Dandy Warhols, Blink 182, Wombats are some bigger alternative bands.
