Mrs Boon got onto the Hard Lemonade, held her composure better than that. Although I'm sure she didn't sink as many as a 10 hour Bum Crack session.

Just enjoying a Henschke Peggys Hill Riesilng 2016. They do not make a bad wine.

It is unusual for me to drink a riesling of this age ( normally have them either fresh or 10 plus years).

Rates highly. Just looked it up and you get change out of $20 from Dan's. Will get some more.

Dan's also have a nice Dopff Gewurtzraminer from the Alsace region for just over $21 a bottle.
The Veuve du Vernay bubbly Rose is also a good buy.

Last night was a 2010 magnum of Yalumba’s “The Menzies” Cabernet Sauvignon.
Simply magnificent.

There's ridiculously priced Cab Sav getting around at Firsts Choice at the moment, Parsons Paddock, usually about $15 a bottle, curently 6 for $36, gee it's a nice drop for a cheaper red, we prefer it over a lot more expensive bottles.

Even the old Russian bloke I work with who's as fussy as all hell has been hooking into it.

Red's in general can be lethal the next day, I recall the wife and I waking up one school morning and just looking at each other thinking "WTF happened", I went downstairs and there was 6 empty bottles as well as the CC's we had polished off, work was struggle town and we did learn from it.

I’m normally ok with reds but the parsons does give me a headache if I have a good go at it

Shifty Lizard Brewery - Willunga :

Nice little spot, it was either an old deli or pizza bar or something, seats around 30 inside, around 12-15 down the driveway/beer garden outside, 8 out on the footpath/frontage. Aircon inside, under umbrellas in the driveway,

With 7 beers on tap I tried a paddle for $15 ( 4 butchers - good value ) I went the Sesh'n Ale (4.2%) a crisp, lighter pale, the Pale Ale (5%) which is your traditional, robust pale, the IPA ( 6.5% ) your modern hipster IPA and the Shifty Lizard (7%) a hibiscus infused purple people eater. I took away a mixed 6 pack for $28.

Nice spot, would be easy to be packed on a nice day if a group popped in.

South Coast Brewing - Willunga :

In an industrial estate this is a very much a start up facility. The bar and vats are in a shed, the tables under cover are under a flat tin roof ( think 1970's carport ) and there's some seating under umbrella's in the car park / outside area. Not sure about food on offer, I don't think there was a kitchen so.....

Again went the tasting paddle ( 4 beers, $12, smaller than butchers ), I went the Southern Session Ale, blonde, summery, crisp, the Porties Pale Ale, bit dark for my liking, heavy coffee/chocolate notes, the Maslins Red Ale, more nutty, still a bit chocolatey and the Bitter Sou'Westerly which had Friday night football in the winter months written all over it.

I took away a mixed 6 pack for $32.
