The Game Day Village ( GDV ) wasn't in operation for the first few games of 2018 then came back on board after the SMA and the PAFC agreed to a joint venture on the GDV. ( No surprise the beer costs immediately went up ). Initially it was the PAFC that had come to terms with Tennis Australia to use the space, then the SMA ( IIRC ) somehow made the Memorial Drive grounds part of the AO "precinct" ( In retrospect, this probably helped them with the hotel development - "precinct" ) and gave the SMA more control of the facility.

Politics aside I'm just pissed that the GDV will be no more. It was a great place for a pregame beer with mates, close enough to my seat that I'd fit one, maybe two in at half time and when a night game finished I think it stayed open until late from any memory I have of the place.

Now it's $9 cups of cats piss, sorry, West End, or $9.50 cups of the piss that a cat pissed after drinking cat piss, sorry, Hahn Super Dry.
