Wallabies

Post by godoubleblues »

now that the super 14's is over we can look forward to the tests

before the tri nations the Wallabies have a few tests
one against Fiji, 5 jun in Canberra
two against England, 12 jun in Perth, and 19 jun in Sydney, and
one against Ireland, 26 jun in Brisbane

a good chance to get some form and confidence before heading into the tri nations which will be tough as per usual

Really hoping us mere mortals get to see some of the games on tv.

If anyone's interested in the other north v south tests this year there's a list of games and dates here...

big win to the Wallabies overnight
49-3 against Fiji
a good way to start the international series for this year

and South Africa defeated Wales 34-31 after Wales got out to an early 16-3 lead

Wallabies had a win over the Poms last night
27 - 17, not overly convincing though

the AB's were big winners over Ireland, 66 - 28

I hope you're talking about the Wallabies game

Has to be about the only time I've been glad my boys didn't get televised here. We must have been unbearably crap to lose by that much :(

Wallabies forward pack got smashed by England, problem was they didn't give their backs enough good ball to make the Aussies pay.

3rd class front row just wont do, looked like the Wallabies of a few years ago. I know we have injuries but we should have more depth than that. Hopefully numbers 1,2 & 3 learnt something last night and will improve for next game on Saturday.

SA or AB will win by plenty if the Wallabies play like against them.

How long has it been since we've had a winning pack against either of England, New Zealand or South Africa? we seem to be consistently under sized and giving away penalties for collapsing the scrum simply because our front row is not good or big enough.

Would be great to catch up for a couple of bevvies again gdb over in the shakey isles. I'm pretty much committed here in PNG job-wise for the rest of the year so no trip for me. :(
I was really hoping to do Christchurch having not been to the House of Pain before and Mr MK was fired up for it and then - job.
World Cup next year - starting to do some planning for that. Are you going?

JAS I didn't see your boys or mine either however, it's because those of us in IT forgot to switch the channels down at the dish to get it DO'H!

not too sure about the world cup, have already been looking at prices and some of the packages a very exy and for the final in Auckland the accommodation is located out near the airport, will have to investigate more but I think everywhere at anytime during the WC will be very expensive

We're doing pool matches only and some pretty obscure ones at that. We'll fly home for the finals and watch it in the comfort of a Rugby party somewhere, home or the Coopers Alehouse. Being in a similar timezone is a bonus.

big loss to the AB's tonite 49-28
AB's just too good, too big in the forwards and better use of the ball
it didnt help our cause with Drew Mitchell getting sent off just after half time for a second yellow card for slowing the play down

gonna be bloody tough next week now in Christchurch, but I will be there cheering the boys on

MK will be smiling tonite

Well done to MK...if you're able to get any interweb over there in the wilds of PNG...hurry back this place ain't the same without you girlie ;)
