Heading over there in just over a months time... avoiding Manilla, flying into Cebu and then having a look around the island etc. Seriously can't wait to get away for just over a couple weeks!
Anyone else been or know anything about it?

Re: Phillipines
Manila is chaos but not worth a look. Cebu was good but was a bit disappointed with White Beach. Pretty fascinating island with a fair bit to do, Cebu City is a decent hub for transport.
Have you got family or just a partner?
The wife and I caught a flight from Cebu City to Caticlan with Philippine Air, cost about $200 return each, takes about an hour. From Caticlan get the boat over to Boracay, costs about 50 cents. Boracay is a tiny island only about 1 mile wide and 10 miles long, has the best beach ive ever seen, pure white sand and turquoise warm water. Accomadation can be pricey but absolute heaven. Was fairly quiet when we were there but apparantly is quite busy these days.
Been to Langkawi, Phuket, Koh Samui and Kota Kinabalu and Boracay tops them all.

Re: Phillipines
Scoob if going to Cebu City dont expect to see nice sandy beaches, like Jim05 said go to Boracay, Cebu City is a dump, been there a few times, got back on the 8th of this month, in fact as a tourist destination the Philippines is way behind anywhere else in Asia.
Cheers
