Jackpot, the horses ability and the price it runs at are 2 different issues.

It may be a costly punting conveyance but is far from SH*T !!!!!!

Hey JJ I dont suppose you noticed that "piece of SH*T" coming off 30m in the Boort Cup at Bendigo and storming down the outside to collect the chocolates

Stick to your Jackpots and Multi's ;) ;)

Where's Boort ?
Is that the equivalent to Franklin Harbour Trots in S.A. ?
Oh well, every dog has it's day. ;)

Even Mohua won a race at GDP the other week i see tho only plugs into 3rd in a 6 horse field at Victor Harbour after having the run of the race.
Speaking of Victor Harbour, went to the Cup, fairly average crowd i thought, maybe due to the the poor weather BUT you'd think they would make an effort to accommodate punters better by putting up the fields and form for the TAB meetings the Tab were betting on and at least they could organise to have Sky Channel 2 on a tv somewhere considering that was the channel Victor was being shown on.

Jackpot raises a very very good point about formguides, or in this case the lack of
Ive been to the Kapunda and Victor Harbor meetings the last 2 weeks

I will put things in perspective, and stand corrected
Whether its a non TAB or a TAB meeting
The clubs get to keep about 10% of the on course turnovers
This 10% is on all races on the day [includes dog and thouroughbred meetings]
The more turnover the more the club makes

The first thing I would do if I was an administarator of the clubs is to put up form for every meeting on the day
It wont cost much, you can download off the computer fields[if allowed] put up newspaper formguides[if they still exisist] or get formguides like the TABs have [if allowed]
To make punters roll up on course with no formguides on display makes as much sense as Kenya winning the 2015 cricket World Cup

The costs of formguides downloaded off the computer is miniMAL
Lets say $20 to photocopy all formguides on the day
At 10% turnover, thats a $200 investment oncourse to recoup the expenses

So Im flabbergasted as to why VH + KAP didnt display anything[unless I couldnt find them]

Gawler dogs meetings , the club shows initiative and puts up formguides

Walk into any TAB and you can find thorough formguides for all meetings

Dunno what incentive people had to roll up yesterday
From Adelaide you would need about $15 petrol for the day
Pay admission to get in, was it about $5 ?
It was a wet day
A lack of healthy food options on course
No formguides
Signs up saying no alcohol to be brought on course

Apart from the course bookies, why roll up ?
ONE LUCKY PUNTER GOT THE DREAM ODDS OF $1-14 COME ON FRANK !

Better off staying home yesterday
Have expansive formguides for all the days meetings at hand on your PC
Have Betfair
Have the choice of 3 TABS and a myriad of Corporate Bookies betting middle totes
Save petrol and admission fees
Eat a healthy meal at home
Drink alcohol which is much cheaper than on course
Watch the SS cricket or the Motor racing between races
Have SKY 1 +2 at home

Clubs need to be better than whats available to the stay at home punters

Back to the original point, FORMGUIDES = TURNOVER

following on from that MAL, the same now apllies for TABs

they no longer have the monopoly on the market and are paying the price for all those years of complacency

kapunda had some form guides up against the back wall under the tv screeens, not sure what venue they were for as i had the form i wanted with me so i didnt look, they also had some form on teh side wall next to teh tab operators

the clubs will never find a way of making it better to be there than at home

I agree MAYZ

the clubs will never make it as good as going to track

but surely there is a lot more the clubs could do to get people on course

and we've been down the path of posting ideas to get people on course

Mal and myself attended a forum at angle park many years ago now

a greyhound administrator when questioned about throwing the gates open for free entry - claimed that by making it free entry it was cheapening the brand - or words to that affect.

surely by throwing the gates open that $6 will be invested on course - either over-priced food/drink or part of a bet

Auckland Reactor out of Inter Dominion
Adam Hamilton From: Herald Sun March 22, 2011 9:19AM Increase Text Size Decrease Text Size Print Email Share Add to Digg Add to del.icio.us Add to Facebook Add to Kwoff Add to Myspace Add to Newsvine What are these? LONG-TIME Inter Dominion favourite Auckland Reactor is out of the series.

Trainer-driver Mark Purdon notified officials today that a health setback had forced him to scratch the glamour pacer from Friday night’s opening round of Inter Dominion heats at Auckland’s Alexandra Park.

Once a horse misses one Inter Dominion heat, it is ineligible for the final.

The setback is the latest drama in the career of a pacer once touted as the best NZ has produced.

Auckland Reactor’s racing career is now in limbo and his reputation in tatters.

Australian pacers I'm Themightyquinn and Mr Feelgood now share Inter Dominion favouritism at $3.60.

The pacing final is at Alexandra Park on April 8.

what is the world coming too at Globe Derby?

race 4, a womens only event (no drama with that) so far upto 6 completed races and race 7 isnt going to get close, has the highest amount invested into the win pool?????

I wonder how Mal went with doing the form and working out his multi combos

Brilliant drive in Race 4 by Kimberly Talent on JBS COURAGE !
The horse bungled the start, and then was wide a fair way from home
I was on JB in Multis, and had thought the horse was no hope of winning after the start and in the run
It was an amazing win
From what I saw all the feMALes drove well

Spot on G
I rarely have any gripes with the Advertiser, its Journos are pretty good as a rule
But its only really this time of the year that gives me the crapps
The Advertiser will report on stories like a Crows players white scented hankerchief or a Power players preference for Cauliflower and not Broccholi for his favouirite vegetable

FRONT PAGE
I pick up the paper today, Saturday
Front page is a picture of Mcdermott, Van Berlo, and some shiela born on the day that AC played HW in thier first game
On page 3 a guy was amazingly cured of cancer
A new drug that could be one of the the biggest remedy in mankinds history
Yeah I guess the Crows are more imPORTant than potential cancer cures

BACK PAGE
The back page has Craig and Primus almost full length picture saying Ready To Rumble

I could not find anything to do with the Interdom
