No conspiracy theories here BackPocket.
What are you doing up that early anyway ;)

What was underwhelming about it? :? The fact that the Roo's didnt pump us as they expected? I thought it was a great game of local footy. It certainly ticked most of the boxes of what you would want from a game of footy - well umpired, a few great goals, reasonably high scoring and most importantly a very close hard fought contest (Lions hit the lead with about 8 minutes to go before Parks drew level and then kicked the winner with about 90 seconds left). You must be a hard man to please Moe :)

Roos need to win there last 3 games ( we have a bye as well ), and hope that Cove or Valley's lose there last 4 games.
We finish with Townies, Aldinga & Christies.

Cove have a tough run home and could miss - will only start favourite in 1 of their remaining 4 games - BDOS, Towns, Shoes, Flies.

I appreciate the focus is on the A grade as it should be, however the B grade ladder and remaining four rounds are very interesting. Three of the four rounds contain three matches which will have a bearing on the final 8, and the fourth round has four matches which will effect it. It's likely positions 4 to 8 will come down to the final round of the year. Flaggies, BDOS and the Shoes appear to have the top three spots clearly within their grasp.

Cove have a tough run home and could miss - will only start favourite in 1 of their remaining 4 games - BDOS, Towns, Shoes, Flies.

Last weekend the Cobras played two spare players in their own defence (one being Josh Ramsey who IIRC was the association centre half FORWARD) from the first bounce to the final whistle. With that style of play they could struggle to kick enough goals to win any of those 4 games - but at least they will make it hard for their opposition to score?!

Any one got a review of last weeks Porties vs $hoes game? I thought that might have been a closer game.

Went down to have a look at this game on the weekend expecting it to be a closely fought contest, given the hype Port Noarlunga have been recieving of late.
Shoes kicked two or three late in the first and then extended their lead into the wind in the second, Porties missed a few shots and went in 6 down at the half with the shoes controlling play.

After enjoying the home sides bbq at half time the shoes dominated the third kicking 7 and looking very good. Left halfway through the last after both sides being pretty even.

What happened at MV, was expecting a close game thier also but Morphies won easily in the end, are they back might venture down to watch that local derby on sunday should be a belter of a game with morphies pushing for a top four and being the only ones to inflict defeat on the winefly's this year.

Yep. that's right, we all hate the sides down at the bottom of the ladder. Must have been a big mistake for Aldinga and Morphie Park to both get the Boot's Club Of The Week within this last month
This is the type of crap that has caused me to want to quit all association with the Boot (and other reporting) as soon as poss.

Have now been through the draw and if all games go according to the current ladder positions (and that is a dangerous assumption) the final ladder will be Flaggies 34, BDOS 32, Shoes 30, Flies 26, Snakes 24, Emus 24, HV 20, Morphy P 18. Porties miss out.

If that is the case then isnt the HV decision to not appoint Rod Mitchell for the U18s last year a very poor one - he is now coaching Flaggies B grade and could see them finish top.

The guy they did appoint whilst being a good bloke has allowed this age group to become a total rabble with half the team not even turning up for training and most turning up on game day after the prematch address. This is the coach who has now pulled the pin after telling the team they cant make finals

The under 18 competition is a bit of a joke these days, any kids that are good will be playing seniors and half the games have fights, it seems it is just a place for kids to go out and get into fights. I feel the league should go back to under 15s and under 17s and scrap the under 18's all together

Hey farva,

I don't know what u18 teams you have been watching, given that your club doesn't have a team in the grade. But, believe me the comp is not a joke and most of the teams involved take it very seriously. Sure, you may have kids who are good enough move up to the A's, and some stay there. Some play B's or C's depending on their ability. Not all kids at that age are ready to play seniors.

There's only na couple of clubs that seem to be tolerent of kids going out there to fight - and they aren't the good teams.

The comp is worth retaining, and provides some great football to watch and some great footballers.

Mitty is a top bloke and fantastic coach. Has the respect of everyone at Flaggies. A great addition to our club and a sad loss for the Vikings.

CHRISTIES BEACH vs NOARLUNGA - By 20 goals, Golding to kick 10

HACKHAM vs ALDINGA - Should be a comfortable 10 goal win

HAPPY VALLEY vs FLAGSTAFF HILL - On recent form you would suggest Flaggys but Valleys will win another derby by 25 Points

MORPHETTVILLE vs EDWARDSTOWN - Both teams in with a faint chance of finals footy, Townies in a close one, 11 Points

PORT NOARLUNGA vs OSB/LONSDALE - Only 20 points difference last time they met, will be different story tomorrow, Porties by 55+ Points

COVE vs BRIGHTON BOMBERS - By lots 65, Points

REYNELLA vs MORPHETT VALE - Morphies too good last time but top spot up for grabs for the flies, 9 Points

Top spot isn't really up for grabs especially if you're thinking Brighton will win by that much!
