Since they only had under 13's and Seniors this year, and both were coached by Shane Mitchell, what has happened this time? Where has the supercoach gone? Club 'officials' assured us he was in it for the long haul. Many posters here predicted he wouldn't last the year and it looks like we were right and he hasn't.
I knew people would see that and come to that conclusion, however, no it doesn't mean Shayne is leaving. It's simply a condition of our constitution that each position be advertised every year. At this point, Shayne will be staying on as A Grade & Under 15's Coach. Not sure on 17's again, but we will at least be able to field 15's as well as 13's next year.
Is that a real U/13's side or is half the team going to be over age again?
Hhhmmm......Not sure that eight weeks for threatening to kill an umpire is the greatest look on a resume. And re the Under 13's, it might be all about kids getting a game. But there may also be some genuine Under 13's from other sides who might choose to AVOID a game if they're 12 years old and likely to find themselves standing an apponent who's nearly 15 and almost a man.

Heard grand final day that this would happen. Does seem strange and you wonder if any players will go with him. Did hear that former sturt champ Bruce Lennon is set to take over
Could this be the rebirth of an impact coach. Word coming mid season they were sounding out a Ross Lyon take over at seasons end.

Fleet hasnt followed Madsen anywhere he had been at echunga for a year before scott arrived no players will leave on his behalf! Scott is a terrific bloke whom everybody likes, however as the year wore on the standard of training and trainingattendances began to drop and inevitably so did performance. It would seem the board believed that the drop in standard was largely due to the way the team was coached. I am aware that winning a premiership and only losing 2 games on the way is a great achievement but at times against the lower ranked teams and at training the standard and attitude was not good enough and at the end of the day the buck tops with the coach. Echunga have set a level of training and performance that is quite high over the last few years and it seems that on too many occasions this year that level was not met. Rant over just thought I'd chuck my 2 cents in

Are you also aware that come finals those lower ranked teams are watching from the boundary and only the higher ranked teams are actually playing so who cares?bookie wrote: I am aware that winning a premiership and only losing 2 games on the way is a great achievement but at times against the lower ranked teams and at training the standard and attitude was not good enough and at the end of the day the buck tops with the coach.
Except in the most important game of the year - yeah, I see your problembookie wrote:Echunga have set a level of training and performance that is quite high over the last few years and it seems that on too many occasions this year that level was not met.
2 cents is as much as your input is worth and you should know 2 cents is a redundant currency and so should your bullsh1t justification of your redneck board be. There's my 5 cents worth.bookie wrote: Rant over just thought I'd chuck my 2 cents in

Lot if talk about people following but I know they are a very close playing group and really wasn't the coaches efforts that created that! You will have to wait and see if he takes up another role, and what sort of coin he has to throw around but again I would highly doubt players following now they have tasted success after a long wait! Again as I can see it with the rumored coach and players to join the club Echunga will only get stronger!!!!

yes some would argue especially in the GF, many would say the playing group lead themselves all year and into the GFAre you also aware that come finals those lower ranked teams are watching from the boundary and only the higher ranked teams are actually playing so who cares?bookie wrote: I am aware that winning a premiership and only losing 2 games on the way is a great achievement but at times against the lower ranked teams and at training the standard and attitude was not good enough and at the end of the day the buck tops with the coach.Except in the most important game of the year - yeah, I see your problembookie wrote:Echunga have set a level of training and performance that is quite high over the last few years and it seems that on too many occasions this year that level was not met.2 cents is as much as your input is worth and you should know 2 cents is a redundant currency and so should your bullsh1t justification of your redneck board be. Yeah, good luck to the Dees & the all-important trainings next season.
On another note, Echunga & Birdwood definitely no-go's into Central?
